Half of them hung around for years. I'm confused as to your point.

Nothing is unfair. I choose to post, so I am open to be challenged. But you appreciate there's things I just can't speak about.

I'm a spin doctor to some now. 'Exciting times!"

But it's the way I am. Always have been, before the job even. Before a season begins I am always optimistic. Why worry when we all set out with zero points? Anything can happen. And that excites me.

I'll be honest here on one small point - back end of the season I wanted it to be over. I can't lie. Nothing to play for, loads of players leaving etc. I just wanted the end. I wanted to get to NOW. To the starting line again. New CEO, new squad, new way of playing, new heroes, new technology, new ideas, new grounds, new hope, it's all new, fresh and exciting to me.

And if we aren't very good and we fail, so be it. I can't influence much on the pitch sadly. Hecky tells us we can, that we with our work can affect things positively, but that's what he's like. It's all-inclusive. If I can say anything that I'd hope would affect anything, it's that there are Barnsley folk all over this club. From top to bottom. Folk who care. And we've just finished higher than we've done in 17 years, against all odds.

Folk would have killed for this a few years ago.

There is no point whatsoever in stressing and worrying in June. Or July.

If we aren't very good next season then fair enough. But give them a chance.

I can't help feeling after reading this forum every day that we've just finished 14th in L2.

I'm really looking forward to seeing the young lad play for us next season. When he leaves, it certainly won't stop me being a Barnsley fan. Many years ago, I got myself quite upset when my favourite all-time players Pat Howard, Mick Butler and Ronnie Glavin left. These days I just enjoy seeing whoever my current favourite is play (the last one being Conor Hourihane), accepting there's far more important things in life to worry about.

Some of em left for more money the majority to further their career which I have no issue with. You may be obsessed by money as indeed may be young Stevie M but not everyone is. I don't recall any of them signing and saying I'm just here to rip you off til I can rip someone else off for more.

You seem to want to convince me of summat by choosing random examples some of which don't back up your argument ( not that I'm even sure what you are arguing about). You are ok with modern football you are happy with it. I am not interested in convincing you that you are right or wrong because you are neither. Your experience suits you. Your views are valid because they are yours. As are mine.

You are happy for players to come and go with no affinity to us or our town. That's 100 percent your choice. It's just not what I signed up for.

I wished Conor well when he left. Never let the facts get in the way of this bizarre argument you are having with yourself though.

I even wished Winnall well and certainly Bree. I criticised the ineptitude of our contract negotiations. I realise you have little or no critical facility or balance in life but not everything is black or white.

When Lee Johnson left I wished him well.

Players come players go. Managers come and managers go.

That's different to a cancer at the heart of football. Money from the premiership down is a cancer. That is my view. It has no impact on your view. You will never convince me otherwise and I have zero interest in your attempting to change yours as it would be wrong of me to do so.

Can you help me out a bit, pal?

You don't have to, no obligations or owt, but I'd love to know what it is that has killed your love for the club.

And perhaps, tell me what you'd like to see happen, so as to re-enthuse you?

    Ta.

It's encouraged for a player to take as much as he can out of the game, but if you're a supporter who wants summat back for what they put in you're a lovely person.

It would be acceptable to folk on here if Scowen demanded a 500% pay rise to stop. If a fan suggested we should offer him a 500% pay rise he'd be slated to high heaven.

You can suggest what you like. Fact is, if a player is wanted by clubs wealthier than us, they get offered a lot more than we can afford.

Hourihane will have pulled half a million by the end of next month at Villa. Would have took him a year to get that here.

Plus, they're Aston Villa. We're Barnsley.

These players have no allegiance to us. Nobody signs here and says "I've always dreamt of signing for Barnsley."

    Cheers.

I'm not suggesting I can help, but if I could then I would do. I don't like the thought of you and your kids no longer coming to watch the Reds. We need all the support we can get.

There is a big difference, its a players job of work, his living, whilst being a fan is your hobby/pastime & its your choice wether you want to pay for the pleasure or not.
