Oh right it's all made up, thousands of victims but all made up.

 

All the grooming and abuse in Rotherham, Rochdale etc. they never abuse or use their own kids or nationality, just young vulnerable English kids from our towns

Been well done - harrowing but very well acted.

Unfortunately goes on in all walks of life - kids are under a great deal of threat these days - far more than we were especially with the increase use of social media.

 

I've got 2 little girls and I'll be honest it made me a bit upset watching that last night, although it's only a programme sadly it's happening in towns and villages near us all

 

Because Jimmy Saville, Rolf Harris and Cyril Smith and the rest are all well known British Asian Muslims. Paedophiles target vulnerable kids, but lower-class, white, uneducated kids are unfortunately the most vulnerable in our society (that is probably different in different countries depending on the make-up of the population). The majority of child abuse cases are still within the family.

 

Don't believe that for a moment I'm afraid. 24 hour news makes it more likely to be reported on. Look how much news of paedophiles in the last few years has been based on historic cases which are only just now being looked into

 

Working in IT and with children on a daily basis I do unfortunately - massive rise in cyber bullying/ online grooming taken place over the last few years.

The historic cases are well documented but internet opens up yourself up to so many more people

 

Prior to the Coalition Government taking power every person coming into contact with young people re- Youth workers,
Social Workers, Trainers etc etc had to undergo a CRB- Criminal Record Bureau check to make sure they had no offences
that could bring their character into question. The scheme was scaled back from 2011 so it's possible that some "offenders"/ predators could well slip the net.

 

Where's it been scaled back? I could paper the walls with all the DBS (or CRB as it was known) certificates

 

I refuse to watch it, I think it's gone too far. I get they have to raise awareness and all that but still, not the right time.

 

When is the right time?

 

Last one I had to do was in 2010 so it's just something I had read somewhere that changes had been made re- scaled back
to bring me to that conclusion. Have to say don't know the current requirements.

If it was from the Sun would it have made it any less true than it being in say the Guardian.

 

If it was just in either, then there is a fair chance it's crap. If it is in all the papers, then the truth will be there somewhere.

 

Hadn't noticed- only change i know of is introduction of the update service where you only need the one if you work for multiple agencies
