This kind of news makes my heart sink if true. Decent player who most would welcome back, but we've put him in the shop window for someone else that can pay him more brass. Fecking rich owners do my head in! Sent from my SM-G850F using Tapatalk
I'd love us to try and sign Janko, even on another loan. He looked good in his few games for us, but I'm not sure what anyone else would be signing him based on! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Not released where he has gone. Just lots of reports including Chester local paper that he has signed for an unconfirmed club but ruled us out of the running. Said he was being chased by Derby, Wednesday, villa and a host of premier league clubs. We offered £80k in January but had this turned down, but a club has entered the race recently and offered what Chester deem acceptable to avoid a tribunal. Edit: sounds like it may be Leicester or another prem league club, with a loan back to Chester. Sounds like he was highly regarded.
So we could have had him for a relatively low fee in Jan but clackered it, now he's gone elsewhere. Well done BFC. I'm sure people will defend this by saying the club avoided having its pants pulled down.
That's an important point. There's a disappointment when we are not able to match higher salaries. But with the present owner we are not even at the racers. Not Pats fault he hasn't the money to compete. But he needs to find someone that will give the club at least a bit of a chance of competing.
You're making an assumption. Hardly fair to criticise the club based on an assumption. Remember the Belgian lad we wanted last summer? Rumours were that we'd lined up 500k for him with him being in his final year. Reports suggested that Eindhoven wanted at least treble that amount. Sent from my WAS-LX1A using Tapatalk
I'd be surprised if we were offering 1/12 of what Chester valued him at. Rumour in January was that we couldn't agree a sell on - same as the lad at Luton.
Its not like you to attack the club at every opportunity, I am suprised ! How do you know we could have got him for a low fee ?
Shame they keep providing opportunities. Someone in this thread has said we offered £80K. Even if they wanted four times that I would still consider that to be low in this day and age.
true, but then I feel sure you would not have been happy with us gambling with a non league player, even though we have had some bargains from lower leagues.
I'd have no problem with us signing a young lad like that - but only if he was to be developed and not to be brought in as a first ream player.
How did you feel when we signed Roberts, Macdonald & Yiadom ? Did you think that they should have been kept away from the 1st team
