Corbyn was presented with an open goal by a dreadful Theresa May and Conservative Party. Corbyn's policies were attractive to many people but there are still many people out there that will not vote Labour because they just don't like Corbyn, There was a easy chance during this election to sweep the Conservatives aside.
A 10% increase in the Labour share of the vote from 2015. A 5% higher share of the vote than Tony Blair had in winning in 2005 The same share of the vote as Tony Blair had in the 2001 landslide
Corbyn galvanised young people better than any politician since Atlee and post war Labour. He now needs to do some serious work on the over 50s who seem to want to deny the young all the things they had. My father in law died in the wool tory talking about financing free university education, a free NHS decent public sector pay and pensions (having had all of these himself) doesn't see the irony in saying how can we afford them.
http://www.ukpublicspending.co.uk/past_spending Bit sketchy but gives an insight into where the money goes nowadays when compared to his uni years. Is it the amount of tax taken or how it's spent ?
I refer to it as "missing biscuit syndrome" "Daddy why are there no biscuits" "Because I ate them all and I have been spending too much on biscuits recently" "but I like biscuits too"
The number of people eating biscuits has risen dramatically. Perhaps we need to ration the biscuits and limit them to those who are really good at eating them instead of the current free-for-all.
Austerity needs to be the norm as our celebrities take all the money they need! Us peasants should be grateful for it and as such, pay more for the privilege!
Or perhaps if his dad actually billed his clients on monies owed instead of letting his clients stash money elsewhere and deciding if they wanted to pay him or not , he'd have no need to ration the biscuits and also **** up everyone who likes them also. Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
********. Pensioners have ******* rinsed this country for years and then voted to get rid of the young migrant workers who help pay for it all. Utter nonsense.
Maybe if there was skilled and properly paid jobs making the biscuits still everyone wouldn't need to try and find jobs eating them
Hmmmm pensioners. Free education to university level check. Free school milk check. Free NHS and dentist check. Winter fuel allowance check. Final salary pensions check. Houses for 2 grand check. More than 50% of the benefits bill check. We all know who's had the summat for nothing mate. Again political lying is beneath contempt
There used to be free for all now ww give the young nothing but 80 grands worth of debt to become a nurse while the old deny the fact they ever ate all the free biccies. But then we used to finance the purchase of biscuits through fair taxation and didn't allow tax avoidance to flourish.
While I agree with a lot of what you say, the fact is that you are falling into the trap of blaming the wrong people. Pensioners are robbing the young, the young want something for nothing. It would be interesting to see the breakdown of voters by age in this election. As an old fart myself, I am thrilled that Corbyn motivated the young to vote. To get rid of this disastrous government we all need to band together. , not blame each other. A start has been made. Now let's finish the job.
