What's people's thoughts if we get this lad in on loan from Swansea. Never really heard much about him or seen him play but got a good reputation.
Cheers. Don't know anything about him. Just heard he may be on his way here so wondered if anyone had seen anything of him.
I don't really. I seem to remember him leaving Bradford as I worked with a Bradford fan and was surprised as he hadn't scored a signal goal. He doesn't have a good strike rate though at lower levels so it doesn't look promising. It's not really up to us to develop Swansea's players for them.
It is up to us to develop him if he signs on loan. That's the nature of loan signings - we get the unfinished article for cheap or free with the expectation to develop them in a lower league. I know this debates been had several times on this forum but doubt bristol city fans will be complaining about having to develop Abraham last season. and I certainly didn't mind us developing Fletcher one before last.
Considering he was managed by Johnno, I don't think they had to do too much developing of Abraham. This lad doesn't look to be anything close.
Striker that doesn't score many goals. Sounds exactly like the kind of player BFC would go after. Sent from my iPhone using Barnsley FC BBS Fans Forum
Seems like he's highly rated down at Swansea from this... http://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/pros-cons-sending-swansea-city-13105267
Gone down in my estimation. He follows the conservatives on twitter! Sent from my iPhone using Barnsley FC BBS Fans Forum
We have no idea though do we. Those stats you give are over a four year period in which he's never really got a run of games. And he's only 21. Both Fletcher and Abraham hasn't played a professional game before joining on loan elsewhere. This lad got game time in the prem last season. That to me suggests he might be decent. Perhaps look at the above link by clint's right foot before we make any judgement on how good he is. All that said - we might not even be in for him anyway!
Looks like the big lad up front most of us have been crying out for to partner Bradshaw or similar. And for a kid he's clearly held his own against misters in the lower league.
He scored 23 goals in all competitions for their under 23s side last season and made 5 senior appearances for Swansea towards end of season
Tammy Abraham looks set to join Swansea on loan for next season too, may mean a loan move for McBurnie is more doable now too.
Hope so. To say we were expecting at least one signing today and another before the end of the week things seem awfully quiet...
