    This is the player one of the other lads on the board mentioned a couple of weeks ago.
    He thought he'd played for RC Lens but we established that he was with LOrient.
    Highly rated by the sound of things. I reckon our new CEO will have other irons in the fire
    with his contacts in France. Let's hope so.

    Hope I'm wrong but just can't see it myself. Especially if the other clubs mentioned are interested. Just hope we do get some bodies in by the end of the week though. Lack of concrete rumours today has me worried that some of the deals which were supposed to be announced this week may have hit a snag.

    So Lorient were relegated from the French top tier, but he was on loan at Tours FC who played in the French 2nd division and finished in 16th place out of 20 teams. Transfermrkt values him at £1.28m, Maybe our French Connection can help us out here as Im guessing QPR+Wages+London would be a more tempting offer if they did bid for him... :)

    I am struggling to understand why not hearing a rumour today, should mean deals have hit snags as sometimes it can take weeks to get a deal over the line.

    Because it was reported by reliable sources that one would be announced today and another later in the week. The fact we have heard nothing on the day a deal was supposed to be announced is the reason I am worried it may have hit a snag. I'm not saying it definitely has, I was just raising discussion. I presume the other deal is Lyndsay and as I understand he will have travelled down today or over the next few days. We still have to agree terms of course but I'm hoping that's fairly straightforward.

    I understand what you are saying, but the only real reliable source, is the club, otherwise its speculation or agents mischief. I just think, every time we are in a window , there seems to be no patience on the message boards.

    I know what you mean, and I perhaps am being a tad inpatient. Still plenty of time to get players in, was just a bit disappointed nothing happened today after Radio Sheffield said there would be.

    That doesn't mean there aren't other reliable sources. As much as some dislike radio sheffield, they are usually quite accurate and don't just report rumours.

    I'm exaggerating for effect.

    We need two full backs for cover. Three if Yiadom goes.
    We need one centre half for cover. Two if Roberts goes.
    We need a left winger and cover
    We need a right winger
    We need two midfielders who can get stuck in
    We need two strikers

    We also need to get to rid of K Jackson, Tuton, Lee and Payne.

    I know people will disagree and say we need abart three but at the minute there is little quality and zero depth.

    Despite being on one of the lowest budgets in the league, you are suggesting a squad of approx 30 players is what we need, yes i am sure we can afford that , pay them all & keep them all happy.
