    The point I'm making is that we ideally need 2 for each position. If Mccarthy fills in at centre half, then someone has to fill in at right back. If the other full back is injured, we're in a position where we're playing a Scowen, Etuhu, Perkins type in an unnatural position.

    i understand but i think we also have to consider the fact that we cant afford two quality players in each position. And that's why multi positional players may be a better way forward in some cases. If youth players have to fill in then so be it. I agree in the fact that i would prefer 4 CBs all capable of jumping straight into the first team. But in reality I cant see that happening. But if it does then great.

    It's still fairly early in the summer and there's still time for the bids to come in but I'd expect him to stay until January. Then Lindsay will get his chance to step in after settling in for a few months.

    If we're wanting decent money for robo he will leave this window if not it will be january or next summer on a free. Unless he signs a new deal of course.

    Its weird isn't it.

    All of a sudden a player who can player a number of positions and has done so successfully should only count as being able to play his preferred position.

    Its not even like he's only played the odd game at CB.

    He played a full season there winning player of the season and its the position he was playing when he initially caught Heckys eye.

    But no he's a right back and a right back only...

    Yes he played a full season at CB for Wycombe which was when Hecky initially started to show an interest.
