It would appear that way if of course he's coming and we can trust the press.! It says in the article "rising to" so it could be based on some caviat or other like playing a set number of games.! Let's see. Must say I like the look of him. Inventive re- chest passes doesn't seem to get caught in possession and doesn't look selfish re-involves his other team mates which is a good trait. I for one hope he does come and improves our team. Exciting times ahead methinks.!
Definitely not beyond the realms. I heard £750k back in January, but that could have been the bid we had turned down.
A million pounds for a 4th division player is a lot , but if Hecky thinks he is worth it, we must trust his judgement.
Having looked at that again I'd take any figures with a large pinch of salt - it gives him two different ages within the space of two lines!
Hecky did say in a recent interview that some clubs are wanting a lot of money upfront and a big sell on percentage but said they couldn't have it both ways. Maybe this is one of the times where the fee is higher as the sell on percentage is lower, which in the long run could work out more beneficial for us. Either way we've got trust the club that its the right deal to make.
How's his broken leg?... is a question id want to know before paying out a million. Would like him on loan with a view to a permanent myself. Or at the very least a preseason trial. Not only to see the leg, but to see if he is willing to get stuck in.. Lot of money for a maybe
Sure I read that the Luton Manager had said he was fit a ready for preseason so it should be fully healed
It's certainly a statement of intent if we do shell out for this lad. I hope it's on a good length contract too. Can you imagine if we handed out a 4 year deal. Sent from my WAS-LX1A using Tapatalk
Ian Evans came to us after a career-threatening broken leg and, along with Mick McCarthy, formed our greatest ever centre half partnership. We shelled out £95,000 for him which was a lot of money then. He was worth every penny, and more.
If it's true, when was the last time we forked out a decent transfer fee. Possible that he is our number 1 target if so.
I believe the biggest transfer fee we ever shelled out was 1.2 million for Ian Hume, I might be wrong though, but that was certainly the last time we spent a decent amount on one player
Hristov is still our record transfer I believe. We have a poor record on big money transfers. Only Ward was really a success.
"Reported figures" - Georgi Hristov £1.5 million. Ashley Ward £1.3 million Hristov - money down the drain. Ward - good profit made on him
They should do. Imagine that. Before signing for Barnsley they have to go 50:50 with big Angus.... if they don't duck it we sign then! Although we would have passed on Conor Hourihane until Hecky coached him into the player he was when he left.
I think you'd only have to threaten them with a full blown tackle from Angus, mate. If they don't suffer from a sudden, violent, explosive bowel movement at the prospect, then they're made of the 'real stuff'!
