Interesting read this morning Swansea after Yiadom but only want to pay £500,000 for him. We aren't budging at £2 mill. McBurnie been offered as part of the deal reportedly. Hope we keep him full stop.
Agreee, think he's worth 3 or 4 with a sell on. If we get this mcloughlin on a free, and with McCarthy in already then imagine he'll go. Would prefer he signs a new contract mind. Cracking player and must be great around the squad.
McBurnie apparently could be used as a make-way. £2 million with him in permanently wouldn't be a bad deal with add-ons and or a sell-on
Is that the same Swansea who might be selling Mawson on to Spurs for 15 million-plus? Who may or may not have a sell on clause with us for such a deal? So Swansea make several/many millions out of that sale but want to offer us 500k for one of our best players. Hmmm... we are about to be mugged again fellas.
It's Alan Nixon. He has about as much inside knowledge as you or I. Probably less. The club aren't daft. Neither are Swansea. We would only sell if the deal was right for us. Don't believe a word that peddler of lies writes in that ***** rag. Amazed people still buy in.
.......'the club arnt daft' Are you sure about that? Cos am not !!! If they read Barnsleys past history of selling players - then I can see other clubs putting daft very low offers in for Barnsley players. If Swansea have offered £500k - then expect Barnsley to sell him for £300k.
I think we've improved massively as a club. And would hope we continue to do so. The fact we've sold Mawson, Stones, Holgate Bree and Hourihane means we do not have to rely on transfer fees to run. The days of Vaz Te & Butterfield £500k was deemed too good to refuse as it kept us even. Not any more. Obviously if we spent all our received income on transfers and wages, failed to get promoted in the next 3 years, then yes we would be back in that place. However the club has made clear that isn't the plan. And I welcome that. Steady improvement and year on year profit.
It's fckucking scandalous. There's clubs in lower divisions that get more money for worse players. While ever we humiliate ourselves like we did with hourihane and winnall it will continue to happen.
It was frustrating to see them leave, allegedly on the cheap. But the club were cornered really. This time last year those two players were proven league one players with a year left on their contracts but refused extensions. Come January, they were proven Championship players with only six months of contract to run, and the lure of big bucks, salary wise, came calling. The players held the cards sadly.
It's been played to death. Let's just hope the directors got the message that selling players on the cheap has fuked the majority of fans off big style.
Apparently he has turned a new deal down aswell. No doubt after he is sold he will say he was never offered one..
