Instal massive screens and play this play every time we get a corner/free kick or kick off we would literally terrify the opposition. Sent from my iPad using Barnsley FC BBS Fans Forum
Pitchside announcer could get involved to generate a bit more pre-match atmosphere. He has a mike so can be heard. I've watched Braga and the bloke with the mike gets those behind the net to shout "BRAGA" and then the side stand to reply "BRAGA". If it's not loud enough he says so and has another go. Before you know it, it's taken up by the whole ground and the noise is deafening. Could easily replace Braga with Barnsley.
The Braga echo, done by many teams around the world, nothing new or unique there. Off hand Celtic, Fortuna Düsseldorf, Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund all do it.
"Stairfoot Rarndabart " by Dave Cherry. PS. Is that the deceased Policeman mentioned on this board recently near the end.?
So what? The point I'm making is that the pitchside announcer does bugger all to warm the crowd up. Be easy to get the Ponty end to chant "Barnsley" and throw one arm in the air and then say to the East stand "Come on you can do better than them" and get a competition going to see who is loudest. After that it will become the norm for the Ponty to start it and the East stand to reply. I've been to loads of gigs where there has been a DJ warming up the crowd and getting the atmosphere built up. At Oakwell there's zero.
So they were asking for something original, which that isn't. And it would sound crap with 10,000 fans in the stadium, just my opinion.
OK, apologies - maybe I should have started another thread about the atmosphere being dead prior to kick-off rather than hijack a thread about some music being played whilst the team walks out. (By the way, the atmosphere will still be dead unless they play something fans can sing along to). My own opinion is that we don't do enough to get the crowd warmed up. Maybe we don't have 50,000 crowds but 10,000 fans can make a hell of a noise as we've witnessed on many an occasion. Each to their own but I think it would sound brilliant. PS Braga average less than us but still make a hell of a racket
My opinion is based on a couple of factors, the attendance plus the fact there's no home fans in the North Stand. If we were getting 20,000 every week and had supporters at both ends, it might work.
I agree & I think would be great. A track that cries out for syncopation, which is what you want for a walk out song. Ah well...
Used at Wembley <iframe width="560" height="315" src="" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> Used at Cardiff pre-game - bit too techno this though <iframe width="560" height="315" src="" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
