Here's a list of all his goals and how he scored them. Like's a header! https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/oliver-mcburnie/alletore/spieler/298477
It's looking very likely now. Looks like he'd be a good signing, target man who knows where the goal is Not many obvious strikers from this country who fit in with our budget and required traits; I'd love us to go for Marquis from Doncaster if possible but it may well be we're looking abroad for more strikers
He also follows Tony Xia, Leeds United and Rangers. Oh...and the Conservatives too...booo! He will know Stevie Mallan from the Scotland youth squads and Alex Mowatt from Leeds v Bradford youth games.
Fernando Llorente has just broken his arm. Wonder if that puts a spanner in the works if the deal wasn't already completed. This is the kind of deal I would be excited about if it were permenant. Develop him and sell him for a profit. However a loan would not quite give me the same sense of excitement. However I trust Hecky and the team to make the right judgement call either way.
If it is true, this one surely has to be a permanent deal. He has Yorkshire connections and gives us an alternative to Tom Bradshaw in style. He isn't what you would call a 'proven' goalscorer at league level, which makes me hope that we are still in for another goalscorer who has a proven track record, even if only one season. I would still hope we might be in for the likes of Sam Gallagher, who has the successful experience with Blackburn from last season at this level and who did well and scored goals even in a poor side. If we end up with both McBurnie and Gallagher, I would be well chuffed. Cardiff bid £3 million for Gallagher in January. He might just be inside our limit for a permanent if we were willing to offer, say £2 million. I think it would be worth it for Gallagher for sure. He came on in leaps and bounds last season and would undoubtedly do the same with us, if signed, whether permanent, or loan. Cauley Woodrow on loan would be a good alternative.
Find the McBurnie signing uninspiring, surely we can do better than a U23 player from Swansea with a poor goalscoring record. Gallagher would only be a loan as he's been offered a new contract.
Agree Springvale, as much as it's a good business model it's not a business we support it's a football club. Is so disheartening seeing every decent player sold. Big profits only benefit PC not the supporters.
Think am right in thinking mcburnie as more experience than Ashley fletcher had when he signed for us and he turned out ok.Unless we find an invester with bottom less pockets then it's always going to be like this and personally I think it's working well.
Football clubs need to have a good business model in order to be successful. Sent from my SM-J510FN using Tapatalk
