Oli McBurnie will not be the only striker we're signing this summer. He's one option we will have, and I assume we'll have a particular system or strike partner (or not) that we will fit him into. Sent from my WAS-LX1A using Tapatalk
I'll back them but I just don't get this type of striker. To be any good for me anyway as a out and out taget man you've got to have the impact of a llorente or andy carroll for me. I much prefer a costa or lukaku or benzema type of player. And before the we can't sign them players and all that comes at me, do one. Toney, I honestly thought he was good. Say it all the time but we'd not have won at Wigan (jpt) without him and port vale away. The latter was 2 in 3 days after coming back from an injury and playing only 45 mins for u21's. I always like that wind up on the pitch too and he was good at it.
Investing in potential and the future. It's the blueprint isn't it? It's living in the world of dreams to talk of attracting Fletcher or Abraham. Toney I was in the minority of rating him but not sure he has it in him to perform at Championship level. As for Oli I have never seen him play but if he's one of the ones Hecky wants that's good enough for me. I don't think we will be relying on him to be first choice though to be honest. I think most of next season will see us with a 5 man midfield. Maybe oli gives us the option to switch to a 442 and have bradshaw or another striker playing off him.
Neither will have any pace though. I think I've seen him mentioned in another thread about OM Sam Gallagher. We seem to be signing a 40% SG
Just out of interest Hemmsy, who would you say has been the best manager in your time watching Barnsley?
