He's only posted this so someone will correct him and he can start argument that the Dingles are Burnley. Or is it Wolves?
He can argue all he wants, we're both Dingles in the eyes of our local rivals, it's not even an argument it's a fact!
Nephew who lives in Walsall tells me Birmingham are know as the Blue Noses and Wolves are known as Yam Yams ( i.e. you am) instead of you are.! When I've been out with relatives over that way for a pint if one of their mates are out who has a broad Black Country accent it can be hard to understand. Nephew reckons if you're on a bus going past Villa Park if the conductor is a Blue nose as the bus stops he'll shout " Hall of memories." just to wind the Villa fans up.!
That's just a term for somebody from the Black Country though. West Brom fans have always referred to Wolves as the dingles.
He's right though. Blackburn fans nicknamed Burnley the Dingles years before the Deedars stole the idea. When you think about it, the Emmerdale Dingles are all from Lancashire so it fits perfectly. There's no doubt where the Deedars are from though.
