    Tha's a warrior. A proper defender. A beast.

I loved seeing you power the ball away after seeing defender after defender not be able to do it.

I'm really disappointed you've been sold.

    Tell 'Arry he's a bent *******.

Meanwhile, I can only hope that those left behind who have come in with decent potential and reputations can show that they are good enough quickly enough or we have major major problems.

Best of luck to him. Proper defender, as you say, and a local lad. In an ideal world he'd have been the captain here for another few years.

One positive though, the ineffective long throw will be gone.

Best wishes Marc, it's been a pleasure. Brilliant to watch a Barnsley lad in the heart of our defence, I just hope we don't live to regret this.

Has been great to watch him go from being a raw non league no nonsense defender to a reliable inspirational captain.

We've signed Lindsey and Pinnock in his place. With a couple of million spare. good business BFC.

It may or may not be who knows? Certainly not people who have not seen either replacement play.

Agree entirely. And I trust our scouting team to have identified their talents correctly. They found Robbo & Gus after all so can spot a good one.

I have absolutely no doubts at all that they're any good. Whether they'll be able to adapt to playing in the Championship so quickly is another matter. I reckon it'll take a minimum of ten games for them to start gelling. Hope I'm wrong.

In the finals analysis, we will only know if it was truly good business in May 18. If we've stayed up then it was good business if not, at least in supporters eyes, it can't be.

Don't think anyone thinks the lads we've brought in are duffers... But we've to make a new team out of all these newcomers. Like Hecky said it took nearly 2 years for the last ones to gell. Though season to be expected coming up

Find players. Polish em up. Sell em on. Try and do it again. Hope to stay in the Championship.

I wish they did a ten year season ticket.

I suppose it depends if you can blindly support "the club" regardless of what it does or delivers or if part of that support is connecting with players and sharing experiences with them. Or somewhere in the middle.

I'll be honest, losing interest rapidly. But still enough to care

Been like tha a few years now mate... This Plan started and was why Mark Robbins left . We then went for a Manager that knew the rough diamonds of the lower leagues, or so we hoped Keith Hill...

All the best, Marc. It's been an utter pleasure to watch this raw lad transform into such a quality defender, a throw back to a bygone age.
Good luck for the future, except when you play Barnsley, and thank you.

Second that. The Mawson/Roberts pairing, and to a degree, MacDonald are very much a reminder of McCarthy-Evans, Futcher-May, Davis-De Zeeuw. Proper strong and dominant centre halves. Hard to replace. But Lindsay, Pinnock, and McCarthy V2 all come with good reputations. Let's back them to become the start of our next defensive bygone age.

I'm chomping at the bit to see our new lads. Big Marc will be a difficult player to replace, though.

Yes you're right. If I'm honest, losing him has left a feeling similar to when Bassett let De Zeeuw go. You hope to replace them, but know deep down its a tough one as there aren't that many of his ilk out there. Let's hope we've found one though.
