Unfortunately, yes. I miss having Redfearn-esque long term players as much as the next man, but realistically it's going to be the only way a club like ours is going to be able to compete these days.

I just hope the long term aim is to keep selling these players we "unearth" for more and more money, whilst gradually increasing the quality of their replacements until we have a squad good enough to compete at the top. Only time will tell if it's going to work though, I suppose...

He's only a young lad still. He's also played for England at Under 16, 17 and 19 and you can't be a pig tatey
to play alongside Micheal Carrick for Man Utd in the League Cup, Premiership or Champions League and also play for
United, Spurs and Palace reserve teams.

As well as his age one of the main reasons he didn't get much game time in the Premiership is that Evra ( United and France),
Rose ( Spurs and England) and Souare ( Palace and Senegal) were picked ahead of him.

I personally am enthused by the signings we've made so far and we are going to get the chance to see how good they are.
Apart from Mawson the others we let go re- Bree, Hourihane, Roberts, Watkins, Scowen and Winnowt are all now with
Clubs in our division and they all have to come to Oakwell next season so we will be able to judge how their replacements fair.

We don't know how it will go for them next season but I'm tipping that Watkins, Bree and Winnowt will struggle to get
much game time for their respective clubs next season. We will have to wait and see of course.

One might have thought he'd have pulled up a tree or two by now, career wise.

Well I'd prefer to look at an incoming player in terms of whether he can actually do a job for us, rather than who he might do a job for in the future.

I know little about him my mate a Rotherham fan reckons he was poor for them and is more L1 standard but seems a decent enough signing to me.

He's not going to answer that, is he. Never answers when he's called out.

I told you an attacking left back.

I dont always like naming names. Especially when its a player as under the radar as Fryers was.

For what its worth here's last nights google search history.

Don't we all? But if he ends up moving on for, I don't know, but lets say £5m(figure plucked out of my head)in 2 years time, then it will mean that the player has put in (at the very least) solid, consistent performances in his time with us.

To be fair though JC as we saw when we beat them early doors and no disrespect to the Millers he wasn't playing in a very good team was he.? You must get dispirited when you're losing week in week out.

For me you don't get to play for Man Utd, Spurs and Palace and cost circa £3 million if the basics are not there.

As former full backs themselves Bobby Hassell, Hecky and Jamie Clapham might be able to pass on some tips
that finally bring the best out of him . He probably realises this is his big chance to resurrect his career.

I really don't understand you at all.

This kid has hardly played any games whatsoever in 6 seasons of being a pro. All the feedback from the clubs he's been at, basically say he's completely ****.

    Even Rotherham.

I'd like to know how many times you've seen him play, specifically as well, which games. Without this info then all it does is prove you just love the clubs these players have been at and that moulds your views on how good they are.

This lad is at a pivotal part of his career, from what I can gather from Palace Fans they can't believe a Championship club have signed him, but youre going off like he's the best player we've ever signed.

This just shows your true colours. We have signed some great players who have been stand out in the lower leagues and you don't care.

We sign some guy who has spent most his life as a prem reserve who has apparently been **** on every loan and your exited about him.

What you gonna do if he's not reight good and the non leagures excel, more wind ups?? your on borrowed time as it is

The worst part about this is that HT's turning people against the lad before he's even played.

Hopefully it's not another Frimpong situation.

Seriously why are people slating Zeki just to get at HT.

Its like people almost want him to fail just because HT rates him.

Yes hes on a wind up but just like James Bree and Mawson our fans are being negative about players just because HT likes them.

No they are not. They are saying that he is a complete unknown who may do amazingly well for us, may do average and may be a failure. Nobody wishes him to fail or even expects him to but what they are saying is that on the face of it armed only with his career history there is nothing to get hugely excited about or to start screaming from the rooftops about his signing. People are pointing that out to show how stupid hemsworth tyke is being with his big club academy obsession

    Nowt like that at all.

People just can't understand why he's all of a sudden tossing over this one player and not others . Loads have said Pinnock is prem bound. HT doesn't care he loves a player who has been deemed not good enough by 3 prem teams and a number of loans

I'm Sure every fan wants him to succeed with us, all the abuse is at HT not the player, and he's brought it on himself tbh

I've never seen an EzekieI play for us before. I'm certainly looking forward to seeing him & all our new lads turning out in a Barnsley shirt.
