I've read your private mail and I think everyone should know that I refuse to wash up the pint glasses. Which are plastic anyway.
You're right. Either way. Some will fear the worst others will hope for the best. What will be will be. What happens is nowt to do wi owt I say, think or feel. As for Jonno turning it round, who knows where we'd have ended up if a) we had not signed Hammill and not dropped the 4231 sideways backwards sideways crap. I think he called it technical football and b) if we'd not got lucky and Bristol took him off our hands My guess is L1 at best.

What would you say if tomorrow it was announced we'd signed a striker from France with 9 goals last season, for £5.3m?
I remember after beating Burton 1-0 in the first game of the season, I said Johnno was the most diabolical **** to ever manage BFC. After we lost to altrincham I said he should have been executed. I stand by both comments.
And I've been following Barnsley for a similar amount of time, and my opinion is this: Around 6 months ago we were sitting pretty towards the top of the Championship. Things appeared rosy. And the more wildly optimistic were predicting that we could continue the 'strategy' of merrily cashing in on every single scrap of talent in the squad, banking the cash and replacing at bargain basement prices and still maintain success on the field. They were wrong. As you were.
The harsh reality is that the championship has become the old premiership. Clubs without big financial backers and from small towns should not really be in it. How can we compete with clubs who pay 20k a week to have a player sat on the bench when we average crowds of 15000 at the best of times. We have defied the odds we should be rejoicing. Yes sad to lose good players but do we moan when we raid the lower clubs? Maybe not next season but sometime in the future it is likely that we will get relegated but so what. I remember the days of just avoiding re selection in the old 4th division. My advise is enjoy next season and the one after that. If we ever get relegated just look forward to the next promotion. I remember the doom merchants saying we would never get back into the championship again but we have. After watching the reds for four decades I am still optimistic every time I take my seat prior to kick off. I encourage my grandson to be the same. This is Barnsley and not Barcelona but we can but dream lol.
I'd check the date to see if I've slept in till 1st April then I'd say what the **** at WWE doing signing a player for that much money with such a poor record. What's your point?
You can say what you want but if Barnsley had kept the team that took us into 2017 we would be now entering the premiership we were a better team than Huddersfield but Huddersfield had better people running their club.
Most clubs find themselves in poor positions. Saying " we shouldn't be there" doesn't alter the fact it happens.
Someone is bound to say that because Wolves are signing Ruben Neves from Porto for £18 million at £5.3 million for our man we would be paying peanuts.!
But everyone was buzzing when hammill signed a 2 year deal last summer signing of the summer ect ect. Half way through the season we shouldn't have signed him not upto championship ect ect. I hope for the best but no one can predict the future and what these players can achive. I realise we haven't got a billionaire owner and pc can't keep footing the bill we average 13500 attendance's which is nowt in this league. We have to have this transfer policy to keep moving
Can't say I know of anyone with that thought process back then, but if you're right - no reason to doubt you - then aye, they too have been shown to be wrong.
