Is it a concern that a foreign owner would sell all of the best players, not reinvest in the squad, not reinvest in infrastructure and the let ground fall into a state of dilapidation and so on. That would scare me because I wouldn't like to see that happen to the club.
Maybe not, but they could put us in massive debt, change the colour of our kit, destroy our identity and history and/or alienate the fans in their quest for ownership/a quick £. I'll take cracked advertising boards of any of those scenarios any day.
The worry is that they'll spend millions on chasing a dream of getting into the Premier league, failing, then walking away leaving the club in millions of debt. The ground needs work, but dilapidated is a bit strong. 5 of the 6 signings we've made this summer have been a for a fee. So the reinvestment thing is false. We're not reinvesting what we're making, but how's the club ever going to be self sufficient if we did. Sent from my WAS-LX1A using Tapatalk
Be careful what you wish for because things could be a heck of a lot worse than they are right now. I was as frustrated as anyone when our season fell apart last season but on balance things are quite positive right now.
Just like foreign owners have taken Wolves to the Premiership. Or Birmingham. Or Blackburn. Or Wednesday. Or Leeds. Or Forest. You seem somewhat delusional.
Any ownership brings a risk and while there may be financial limitations with PC there is no risk of him using us as a rich man's plaything. We're pretty safe in his hands and that has to be worth something.
Or they could do what they did at Orient & take them from the brink of the Championship to the Conference, going through five managers in 16 months.
Or in a nutshell, lets throw loads of money at it like all those clubs we love to slag of and risk going out of business...or summat.
Cheer up you miserable git. Its been a mad weekend. Players brought in left right and centre..player investment.3 year contracts. Smile.
There are good foreign owners Chelsea seem to have benefitted for example and there are very bad British owners. Ask Blackpool! Personally I would like any new owner to have some connection with the club not be looking for a plaything which makes a foreigner less likely but not impossible as we do have foreign fans who aren't from Tarn
