And what on earth makes you think that a company is not allowed to offer a contract extension to his fixed term employee? The agent works for the player by the way

Sorry, we seem to be spitting hairs here and I am not sure what your motive is. Why would you be happier that Marc Roberts has left if he had been offered a new contract?

Logically, if I'm in a job with a contract that ends in a matter of a few months and my employer hasn't offered me a new one, I'm off. No matter how much I love the job, my boss and my colleagues, I need to be sure I can put bread on the table when my contract expires. Logically, that really is the bottom line.

I have already explained that. At present we have players claiming that they would have stayed if the club had bothered to offer them a contract. It makes us look extremely unprofessional and short sighted and all you get from the club is hints and suggestions without them actually coming out and saying the truth. Offer a contract and the club can hold its head up and say to the fans, to the supporters, to those with hundreds of pounds invested in the club that they did everything they could. That they DID offer a contract and that frankly the player is talking utter ******** and lying

No it's really not. It's not logical to not to even try to retain your better players. It's not logical to let them run down contracts to decrease value without approaching them to see if it can be avoided. Mar while he wanted to stay also probably wanted a slightly better reward than his slightly better than non league wages. That seems reasonable to me and logical.

As I said you may wish to believe the club and its representatives trying to spin their way out of 'trouble' that's definitely your prerogative. You are wrong to denigrate our ex players in the way you have above. Winnall gets criticism for the way he handled himself not for getting transferred.

Selling a centre half you got for nothing for a fair bit of money seems logical especially if you reinvest the transfer funds but just be upfront about it.

Then that is where you and I part company. What has happened is football. Furthermore it is business. I do not hold anyone to blame or think anyone is at fault. It is simply the natural order of things.

I am not aware that I denigrated anyone. Earlier is this thread I said that GG was wrong to get engaged in exchanging views on a public forum and I said that the club should just take the knocks. If the players chose to spin a story, then that is up to them, but I will decide what and who I believe and I do not for one minute believe everything that I read, from almost every source.

But do you not agree that if they had formally offered contracts to players then they could end any speculation and cut out the problem of the public spat by simply stating that they had done so?

No, I think that the whole thing became a public spat when GG responded. He will learn that it is better to grind your teeth and say nowt.

That is not answering the question I asked at all. It is a politicians answer. Ignore the question and answer a different one. At no point did I ask when it became a public spat, the question I asked was do you agree that offering a formal contract removes the potential for speculation about whether or not you offered one as you can answer the question with 100% clarity

Sorry, but when was the last time that you answered a question of mine?

You seem to want to know everything about our football club. You seem to want to decide whether you think the individual decisions that the club makes are right or wrong. You have to understand that not everyone shares your interest, or lacks your trust in the people who are paid to make those decisions. Those people know far more about the game than I do and are paid far more than I was ever paid. The consequence of them making too many bad decisions is that they lose their jobs, which is far worse than any effect I might have on their position if I were to criticise. Basically, I trust them to do their jobs.

I'm sorry that I have not answered your question again, but it is a question that makes a number of assumptions that I am not prepared to go along with.

I'm bored of this tbf. No player has spun a story. The club got bad publicity started to spin and Marc's mum pulled them on it.

Anyhoo. Saw this the other day while doing some research and it reminded me of you.

The limits of logic. Not offensive in any way I think he will probably like it. I was doing some work based research and it came up just as he was mentioning logic.

It was either that or this

BFC might want to rethink their banner image on the website given the circumstances.
