Maybe he'd left his watch in the dressing room after a match, and was just coming back to collect it from lost property.....
Ash Fletcher has been quoted in the local southern press as saying because West Ham can't afford the "big" money signings he was hoping to emulate his former team mate Marcus Rashford who did it at Man U and break through as a regular starter for the Hammers first team next season. He's only ever played 37 competitive League games. He's featured in 16 League games for West Ham without scoring and he scored 5 in 21 starts for the Reds ( never made a League start at Old Trafford.) Not dissimilar to Zeki Fryers record in that he played in 18 first team games for Man U, Spurs and Palace and featured in 20 games for Standard Liege. Ipswich and Rotherham.!
Yes, need a bit of perspective here. He may well have been one of our Wembley heroes but he's not necessarily going to come back and do it again for us. I liked him very much but he's not the experienced big man that I would like to see leading our line. I've said it before but someone like Chris Martin would be perfect. Somebody who gives centre halves a hard time. Fletcher is a good player, no doubt about that, but he's not the Messiah. He's just a very naughty boy
I just cannot see this, but would be seriously delighted if it proved to be correct. West Ham are devoid of strikers at the moment, so Ash has a real chance to pitch for a regular starting spot. Even a loan would look unlikely, as his wages would be preventive, unless the club's policy has changed. I just can't see it happening, but hold on to a very slight glimmer of hope in that he knows the club and may appreciate the job done by Hecky and co whilst here. Nice rumour, though.
If this is true it'd be fantastic. I really think he'd tear up the championship once he's up to speed. I'm sceptical, but him coming on loan isn't completely crazy... I'd expect bigger teams to be after him, loan or permanent, so hopefully he's going out on loan and knows/ trusts us to treat him right Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
What all this b0ll0cks actually achieves is to make people feel disappointed in who we do actually bring in.... Serves no purpose..
Heard an interview with Gold who said they must buy tried and trusted strikers rather than rely on the young lads coming through. To me that means Fletcher will be loaned out, to whom I know not
OP - be honest here This is ******** isn't it. You got pissed, got excited about the Isgrove signing which would make it more plausible that other former players might sign, and decided to share that with the rest of the forum in this manner. Si?
Quote: ".....the London club may be willing to let Fletcher, who had a loan spell with Barnsley last year, go for a fee of around £6m after struggling to get much of a look-in at the Olympic Stadium". So he barely gets a game for them in his one season, scores in a League Cup game, and is now worth six times what they paid him? This is the mad, mad world of the Premier league.
He scored 9 in 27 appearances for us in L1 so hardly prolific . He's the kind of player that we ought to be able to snap up , but because of crazy inflated prices he's miles out of our league financially . In my opinion he's worth about a million quid at best . nuts innit !
Totally valid , but he's nearly 22 and all he's done is play half a season in League 1 and kept the bench warm at West Ham . Don't get me wrong I'd have him tomorrow but 6m is just crackers .
Defo mate. Just as £3.7 million for Robbo would be crackers, except within the context of the current overheated transfer market.
