Very friendly people the Argies. Met some in Malcesine Lake Garda when I was on holiday once and got chatting over a
a plate of fresh tomatoes ,mozzarella and a foaming hot cappuccino.
If you let them know you dislike Thatcher a little bit more than they do you'll find you get off on the right foot.!

I like the look of that stadium in South Korea with a ski jump in the middle of the stand. Surprised nobody has mentioned the big Athens derby yet - that can be tasty at times...

Balgarska Armia (Stadium of the Bulgarian Army) CSKA Sofia, to watch the Derby with Levksi Sofia or the other way round at Levski ground Georgi Asparuhov Stadium . I am going in a couple of years. Will be going to quite a few Ludogrets Razgrad matches too.

Really boring choice but it's the Nou Camp for me. Just for the sheer size and scale plus the history of the place. Would ideally like to see it before it gets redeveloped but doubtful. I like history and bemoan the loss of many grounds so I was hoping to visit the Mestalla on a recent trip to the Spanish Costa Blanca but ran out of time! Other notable ones on the 'to see' list would be the San Siro, the Munich Olympiastadion (if still there), Parma's Ennio Tardini, the Luigi Ferarris in Genoa and the De Kuip in Rotterdam. All seem to have a unique character and/or atmosphere that would be great to sample. I'd love to attend an Old Firm Derby one day as well.

I like the older stadiums that have been continually expanded over the years, like the Bernabeu.

I doubt it's ever a practical thing to do but modern stadiums are just totally soulless and almost come out of a catalogue...ie Leicester and Southampton's grounds, almost identical.

Oakwell would be a cracking ground if there was some way to fill the corners in that was sympathetic to the existing design.

It's a shame more grounds aren't redeveloped rather than knocked down and replaced. The unique character of a redeveloped ground can be wonderful compared to a brand new 'facility'. I saw plans for a redeveloped Boleyn/Upton Park. It looked grand, really good.

Hillsborough, I'd love to see such a massive team in the best stadium in the world.

Maracana for me, preferably World Cup Final with England beating Brazil. Don't ask for much, me.

I visited it last year but only a tour. It is some stadium but I don't think it's had a lick of paint since 1978. I preferred La Bombonera which is just a ridiculous stadium. Three steep tiers with terracing on the top tier - madness. My favourite stadium in Buenos Aires was Estadio Tomás Adolfo Ducó where Huracan play - it's an Art Deco delight. It's also used in a great tracking shot in 'The Secret in their Eyes'.

How about the FNB stadium in Joburg for tha Kaizer Chiefs v Orlando Pirates game?
I saw the Chiefs play Ajax Capetown in the Green Point stadium a few years back. Their fans were great.

Been to Union Berlin a dozen or so times, fantastic atmosphere and highly recommend it!

Also been to Newlands in Cape Town - think it was New Years Day in 2005, the only test match England lost on the whole tour - that's a great choice, Cape Town one of the best cities I've ever visited and there's even a brewery in the corner of the ground.

For me it would be Lambeau Field, home of the Green Bay Packers in Wisconsin. Seen them play a few away games but it's just such a trek to get there especially when it's snowing!

De Kuip will be replaced in the coming years as they're building a new stadium. Feyenoord fans very unhappy at this.

Olympic Stadium in Munich is still there, but not used for football. I think you can do a tour for a few €'s.
