surely we want better than McBurnie for our front line ? Might as well go with Kayden Jackson and Tuton before him
Could McBurnie be our Abraham or Fletcher even.None of those two players had any experience before there loan deals. It could be argued that McBurnie could offer a greater goal threat.
I've never seen the lad play in the flesh so I'm not making any judgements but he's certainly been prolific at Premier League 2 level. I do know that discussions have been held and the last time I looked he'd been following BFC on twitter, which would be a bit random for a Leeds lad based in Wales if he wasn't thinking of coming. Just thought Swansea might be ready to do business (probably a loan) now that they've got their man. Personally, I think we'd still need two more with McBurnie and Bradshaw, which needs to include at least one with some real pace.
Whilst been very open to any new signing developing into a valuable first team player and never wishing to cast negative judgements on players I haven't seen play... just curious why McBurnie is seemingly held in such high esteem? His goals record seems rather average and is untested at this level. I've seen players with a better pedigree wrote off as not worth pursuing so just wondering what makes McBurnie such a prospect? I'll trust Hecky and his scouts of course, but would hope we got another couple of strikers alongside this lad to take the pressure of Bradshaw.
I would imagine PH and the scouting team have watched him enough to see things in him or they wouldn't be persuing him.I must admit I'd never heard of the lad but neither had I heard of Abraham or Fletcher. These players need a breakthrough somewhere lets hope if we sign him he can do a good job for us.
Don't understand some writing him off. He scored 23 goals for the Swansea Under-23s team last season as he was on the bench ahead of the £12m Borja whateverhisname at Swansea at the end of the season. I'm not saying he's the next Ashley Ward and I haven't seem him either, but it seems a little odd to assume he's a dud.
I look at a player's statistics and the reaction of the supporters from his previous clubs. I've been happy with all the signings except Fryers on that basis. If I'm being charitable, then maybe McBurnie's best has been where few have seen him.
