I decided a few years back that I can't get excited about them, so probably won't be going to any. I can understand that some will want to see the new lads play etc, but they're just not for me. Does anyone else usually give them a miss? Sent from my SM-G850F using Tapatalk
Yeah I can understand that. I feel like I should be going but I just can't be arsed. Also, the start of the football season is bitter sweet. Football's back, but before you know it summers done a runner again. Sent from my SM-G850F using Tapatalk
By the time the friendlies come round, I'm usually chomping at the bit to watch Barnsley again. If there are any new signings, so much the better. When I was a lad, you'd be lucky to see a couple of newcomers, sometimes there were none at all. I usually enjoy the relaxed atmosphere in these games. No need to go over the top with a victory, nor be too upset witnessing a defeat. As the matches are simply an extension of preseason training, it's utterly barmy to read anything into the result.
I'm a Barnsley fan so can't wait to watch the team. I go to watch Barnsley not a team that plays in the Championship or League one say. I love watching all the different players at the club. Hopefully, we will still see 22 players on Tuesday night. The game will defo sort the wheat from the chaff for those that go to watch.
Oh I wondered when the "better fan" card would be played, and just because I didn't miss a single league or cup game, that makes me some kind of "glory hunter"? Why do you have to come on and **** posts up with your utter ********? Sent from my SM-G850F using Tapatalk
Can't stand friendlies. I understand why we have them, but I can't get excited about them or get my head around supporters getting excited about them or bothering to go. It's a practice match with tackling allowed.
They're always tempting because we haven't had a match for a few months and the weather's nice but I only go if they're different. Bordeaux a few years ago was worth the effort as was the Man City game when Bogdanovich scored a beauty. I think that game was free to season ticket holders. Ferenczvaros was great too. I can't say I'll be tempted by Coventry and Huddersfield. The games I go to and regret are usually the League Cup ones. Northampton last year, for example.
I just don't really enjoy non-competitive games, I might go to the Huddersfield one just to have a look at the new players but they're meaningless & players main concern is to not risk injury
I like the away ones but this time 2 are midweek, ones at 12:30 and I'm not in the country for the Rotherham game. Had a mare.
If it's nice weather, couple of pints, get a look at the new players, few hours away from the wife I'm not seeing many negatives with pre season friendlies. Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
