I think Burton will struggle Ipswich also. Sheff UTD Bolton and millwall will find it tough as well . Then there's Preston and QPR who won't pull up any trees I think we'll be ok
Bolton, Millwall, Burton, and unfortunately us will be at the heart of the relegation battle, along with a couple of surprise teams, Ipswich could be one, along with Bristol City. I think Sheffield United will have a strong mid table finish. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Weren't Huddersfield one of the relegation candidates on account of the wholesale changes from the previous season? I think Villa were also favourites to go up.
We have nearly always been tipped for the drop every pre-season for as long as I can remember. We simply have to do what we've done in previous years, roll our sleeves up and live up to the tag of "Battling Barnsley" and prove these so called " experts " wrong yet again. We haven't even got our full complement of players yet so let's see what happens in the coming weeks. Whoever comes in I still hold the optimistic view that we might not go up but conversely we will not be relegated.!
It's what makes us better than the rest, clichés punching above our weight, against the odds, battling barnsley, teams like barnsley I wouldn't change anything all part of the ride, it certainly makes the wins sweeter I've watched the reds for over 35 years and I'm looking forward to this year. Its just the trying to brainwash, where failure is acceptable with money in the bank, that will never sit well with me..
For my mind it will depend on who we manage to sign as strikers. We need a couple of really promising youngsters on loan & maybe one permanent signing. Also hanging on to Yiadom, hopefully on a new, improved contract, even if we have to agree a release clause of maybe £3.5 million, with sell on clause of 15% or so. I'm sure will take a while to bed new players in, but think we'll stay up. Will be harder than last season though, that's for sure. In Hecky we trust.
So you think we've spent more this season than we did on Hristov, Ward, Fjortoft, Tinkler and Krizan?
I didnt say this season, I said over the last 18 months. Tot up the supposed fees we paid for Moncur, Mowatt, Pinnock, McGeehan etc and I'd suggest thats well in excess of 2 million probably heading towards 3. Maybe, it's shy of what we spent in the premier league season. The fact remains that, by our standards, it is a significant investment.
