For a start the Academy would be shut what an absolute white elephant; And sold for social/free housing for immigrants family's So everyone could have a nice smug and self righteous warmth while walking to the match Then seeing we are recruiting lower league players id lower the ST price in comparison. Along the lines of Hudders/Bradford.... Why should we expect people pay championship prices when they're watching lower league players (Or do we pay a premium just to watch the opposition ..big clubs..)...and the match admission price to a max of £20. .. And to save money I wouldn't pay any player more than a Barnsley average wage... Anyone who worked for the club would be a volunteer from chairman down to folk on the turnstile... A truly .. All in it together local club.. And look forward to away trips to Crewe, Morecambe and Newport...our true level You asked...
We'll never know if its true. They wanted a million at one point. We had two offers knocked back, apparently. As usual the fee was undisclosed but I doubt he'll have come cheap.
There is absolutely no way we have paid £1m for a player with 40 games at conference level. It's just not possible.
Although I will go into the start of the season optimistic that we might have found a team full of gems, on balance of probability this is probably a fair assessment.
Would love to be wrong just very nervous about what the season has in store. I think lots of peoples thoughts on last season are softened by how great we were in the first half. I do however think we have the best manager in the league so if we do fail I've no doubt we will fail with style.
A high proportion of transfers these days are loaded with add ons and incentives. I'd suggest that the lads we've signed in Pinnock and McGeehan are the same. We won't have spent more than 500k-750k on either up front, however, id hazard a guess that both would rise to a million if certain triggers are hit (promotion, sell on, apps, international recognition).
Would like to leave it there, but you are wrong on almost every argument. We ARE a championship club, for at least another 46 games, we do pay some of the lowest wages in the championship, so can only attract the ambitious players of the future, how good has it been watching Connor, Sam, Alfie & Robbo mature into proper footballers, with a mixture of their talent & Hecky's coaching abilities. We can't afford to pay them, never will be able to, but i loved watching them while they were here. If we charged £20 a ticket we wouldn't even be able to afford the non league players (as you call them) that we have this last month. We have invested more money this season on new young & hungry players than probably ever before, all are tipped for bigger & brighter futures, I hope they leave in the next 2-3 years for even more money than the lads that have left in the last 6 months, that's reality & that's football. I'm tipping that you would be at the front of the queue offering your services for free then, after packing in your job, can't do enough for the club you love eh.....?? We have a football club at the moment that we can be proud of, one that is run professionally & within it's own restraints, our reputation within the football world for development & progression of players has never been higher & is a reason why some players see the big picture & put their early development in front of their bank balance. We benefit from this, get used to it, it ain't gonna change any time soon..
