Far better player in my opinion. James Bree benefits from the recent phenomenon that if you are young and have pace then you are worth a lot of money on the off chance that you become a better player.

As a defender (the key attribute for a defender) since coming on the scene Bree has been outperformed in his position by holgate, Williams and yiadom.

I remember Martin Delaney making Gareth Bale look terrible one time as well. Thought Bree's defending improved ten fold each game last season.

Yids' biggest negative, and part of this can be blamed on being played at left back, is his reluctance to overlap. He's got the control and ability to be more effective going forward than he is. He could develop that with us for a couple of years and get his move or chance it now. Can see him and Bree making it.

A Villain mate of mine reckons Bree has been more impressive than Hourihane so far and will be even better with John Terry's guidance.

I believe he only featured in six games between January and May because I think he got injured. I don't think he started in many games because Alan Hutton was their first choice. I have nothing against the lad but having seen him play for us I don't think he's got what it takes to be a top Premiership player. I hope he proves me wrong. Time will tell of course.

I rate Yiadom better than Bree in all departments, but then he is a bit older.

Is the Rob Atkinson listed as one of the Guiseley subs the lad that played for us? Ritchie/Davey era I think, was he a centre half?
