New name thrown into the hat. Young striker from West Brom, want him on loan. Was at Shrewsbury last season I believe but West Brom want to test him at a higher level. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Know very little of him, from a quick google search he is still very young and seems to be described online as a winger/striker so could be seen as a Marley replacement maybe?
Been looking at this lad for a very long time. More of a winger that can be played up front like Watkins. Again it's lies damn lies and statistics with his goal record isn't it. Surely a better team creating more opportunities gives the ability to score more goals? Winnall has scored 3 in 14 for the Wendies but he had a good record here.
Looks a good prospect. Another Welsh International as well. We'd only need one more and we could form a Choir.!
He was last on loan at Shrewsbury and they think he's excellent, very pacey & comfortable on the ball. Scored 4 in 13 for them. I think most of his Oxford appearances were as a sub so the goals to games ratio is a bit misleading on Wikipedia. He is still only 18 years old too. Here's a thread about him on the shrewsbury Forum - http://blueandamber.proboards.com/thread/94202/tyler-roberts
Its a pretty standard response from you to be super negative about anybody or anything. Not sure how you go through life with such negativity. The club are clearly seeking high and low and exploring numerous avenues for strikers. They can do no right in your eyes. If you have all the answers, please tell us who we should sign as a striker, I'd love to know. P.S giving Sam Winnall a 13 year contract 18 months ago does not qualify as an acceptable answer.
I simply posted his stats. I have left it to others to draw their own conclusions. I expect the consensus is "just the type of signing I was hoping we would make".
Really is there a problem where supporters would like a striker with a record that suggests he will score goals at this level rather than a huge gamble on an 18 years old?
Imagine if they do go for him he would a) be a loan signing and b) be one of two or three strikers we bring in - so not sure we can say its a huge gamble. As I asked Conan above, who should we sign? Which striker with a record that suggests he will score goals at this level is out there?
Do we even need a striker with a proven rocord at this level? I reckon the priority should be to get someone for Bradshaw to play off, as that is clearly whats lacking at the moment.
FWIW I'd hope that the 'plan' - ie the liquidating of assets last season and this summer would enable us to acquire a striker with a bit more pedigree than a teenager from a Prem club - not denigrating anyone there we might sign who doesn't match my expectation because I'd drive Ashley Fletcher here myself, but we're asking Hecky to compete in a very competitive league. He'll need more than players with raw ability to do that effectively.
