I blame Thatcher. The old state owned BT wanted to replace all copper cabling with fibre, even investing in manufacturing capacity for fibre but she stopped it as it was "non-competitive". We've now got **** speeds using 1900's technology
I actually don't see what the problem is. The club are unable to provide commentary(something that's above and beyond what anyone has paid for anyway) why not make it free, why even make an apology. Its just given someone above a chance to trot out the usual small minded attitude that prevails in these situations. I'd make all pre season games free anyway as you said, gives anyone who isn't signed up a trial... marketing the product and that may eventually happen who knows....
You are right in an apology isnt/wasnt necessarily needed and its not a major issue but jmo no small mindedness either tbf. Another analogy would be the turnstiles are broken so cant get people into the ground so next two matches anybody can come for free including season ticket holders. Well, she killed the rollout in 1990 but BT had been working on it since 1974 and by 1979 had laid out a plan to replace all copper with fibre. Hence we fell behind in competitiveness in the name of competitiveness. Total madness
Don't be tight, it doesn't hurt you that some people get to listen to a few friendlies for free - it's not league commentary they are giving away. Yours, a paying subscriber
