I hope it's true. It's got to happen at some point. I don't think Patrick's son (James?) wants the club. And I'm sure when it's done that Patrick will pass it over to someone who he believes will take the club forward.
Have I missed something where Patrick Cryne has outlined his and his family's plans for our future.? Let's not wish anything upon us. Enjoy the moment for me.
He's right. At some point someone will have to buy the club are you expecting Cryne to own it for all eternity?
Precisely WOTS. We are a Championship Club and not a League One Club.! What if the Cryne family decide to call it a day recover any funds that they've loaned and they/ we can't find anyone to buy the Club.? What will happen then.? As has been commented on in previous threads elsewhere , what is the incentive for anyone to invest in a Club of our size that has limited scope for expansion.?
.........'as limited scope for expansion' ......... say for example, as what Northampton Town are ???
As everyone and their dog has pointed out League One means that the story is complete ****** but in any case I know Cryne will need to pass the club on sometime - especially if his health cotinues to deteriorate but I would hope he doesn't sell to Chinese ( or any other foreign) investors who have no connection with the club - I dont think that would end well
We are a championship club and a a super rich person may want summat to do with their money - there is kudos for them in getting a club to the Prem. All loans have been written off. Not to say that PC and his family could not (rightly) sell for a nice few quid - as I said we are a Championship club. I don't get this "limited scope for expansion" at all.
That's possibly the way we would have to go like Northampton form a Supporters Trust just to keep the Club going. They play in League Two and have a maximum capacity of just below eight thousand. Like us limited scope for expansion. There's a covenant on Oakwell and it's surrounding land. How much would PC want for the Club and could we get sufficient income from our hardcore support not only to fund its initial purchase but also to invest Year on a Year to keep the Club going forward ?
