    I've just checked and he was indeed 30 when we signed him. Who the fck gives any 30 year old outfield player a five year deal?! Especially a winger. Though compared with some of Rudsdale's master strokes at Leeds, it doesn't look so outlandish....

    He would have been a football creditor though so would need to have been paid off in full before we were allowed to pay in the league again. At the time all football debts were required to be cleared - though all other suppliers got stuffed with some pence in the pound as part of a CVA

    I remember the IR launching cases about that but cant remember what the eventual outcome was

    only partly true im afraid to say....Yes he wanted to stay but look no further than JD to lay the blame re De Zeeuw leaving ....And that came direct from the horses mouth for want of a better description..one night after work on HMV Nor Sea .....on his way home with family to visit family in Holland.

    might i also add he still had a slight Bsly twang with certain words lol and wasnt very complementary about JD
