But Dragon Tyke, etc. expect 4 more signings today or they're handing back their non existent season tickets.
Give it an hour and the usual culprits will be starting multiple threads stating "I thought we were signing 4 players". Sent from my WAS-LX1A using Tapatalk
Then the other usual culprits will be saying we don't even need four signings - the squad is big enough as it is.
Then other usual culprits will trust Hecky & not start moaning about everything to do with the club like some do.
I think we need a left full back regardless, unless Ben Williams is closer to the first team than we were led to believe. It leaves Fryers as the only recognised first team left back. Obviously Yiadom and Pinnock (I think) can play there, but then that leaves us short in other areas. We're definitely still light up front. I'd love for Bradshaw, Payne and Ugbo to score 45 between them, but I just can't see it somehow. Sent from my WAS-LX1A using Tapatalk
Will the striker be a big signing? £1 million plus? We've spent that on a League 2 midfielder this season...
The problem with Payne for me is the step from non-league to Champ is too great, and it shows. If we had not got promotion when he came, had chance to bed himself in, in L1 for a year or two and then had a go in the Champioship he may have been OK. But as it stands now, id expect 2 strikers in to make 4 + Brown, then Payne out the door either loan or perm... Payne just came at the wrong time... cos I do think for some team lower down ill make a good striker..
Ok. So players already linked are: Tyler Roberts (WBA), Harry Wilson (Liverpool), Ollie McBurnie (Swansea) and Ash Fletcher (WHU). Of that list, the last two would do for me as priorities, but I would have the other two as well as development players. Ash might be available as soon as the Hernandez deal is sealed at West Ham. McBurnie is likely to be retained by Swansea until they have sorted out Llorente. Either he remains injured, or they sell him. Either way they will bring in a replacement and that should free McBurnie, but it just may not happen before the start of the season.
Which part the fletcher signing or the full back? Who said we had enough options upfront? To be fair we probley need a striker who can hold up the ball and bring midfielders into play as I can see us playing 5 in midfield and 1 up top next season. Mcburnie could be that man.
We played 1 up top quite often in the 2nd half of last season and we have more midfielders than I've ever known so I think hecky will go down that route just my opinion I may be wrong. If I am they will be a few midfielders not even in the squad on matchdays in cm we have sessi mallan mowatt mcgeehan moncur and now the lad from everton if we play 442 only 2 of those will feature.
