    Hes 28 though so he falls out of our recruitment parameters. Seems a good player though, perhaps they may overlook his age.....

    Rather stick to players from the UK to be honest, our scouting knowledge from elsewhere can't be any good and surely if a player is Championship quality he'd have been snapped up by someone else.

    To be fair having a French CEO doesn't make him a scout.

    You wouldn't expect The Don in days gone by to have been deciding who we bought.

    Once a player has been identified then it should be over to the supposedly expert negotiateur to try and seal a deal.

    Our snail munching CEO might have a bonhomie advantage in this regard if it came to ensnaring a footballing frog, but if we have no ears to the ground in the land of the onion necklace, it counts for rien.

    You do know scouts aren't nailed to the floor we can send people from England to France to watch players weren't not just relying on an army of Pierre's and Jacques to watch French players. I never said that GG would be a scout but he'll certainly know lot more people and players from abroad than Linton ever did

    Scouts tend to sniff out in their own areas.

    I'm not sure whether we have the resources or the strategy to have toutes des Jean-Marie on the payroll, competing with every other club in Europe.

    We have no previous in France.

    He is currently Lens Director of Marketing and International Development and a member of its Executive Committee. He has held a number of positions at Lens including Head of Legal and General Secretary being responsible for all football administration operations including player contracts and international and domestic transfers. He also managed the football administration for arguably one of the best youth academies in France.

    I don't disagree with that but you can't just say we have no scouting in France because we haven't had a lot in the past, and Gauthier will have improved that, not saying were gonna pick up a Kodja or anything like that we just have to wait and see.
