Strong reports Swansea are stepping up their interest with a 3 million pound bid that will test the club with only 12 months left on his current deal. Easy to see why he is attracting the premiership teams and I think Swansea would be a good move for his development look at Mawson now come on leaps and bounds took his chance and a regular. Better than joining one of the championship big spenders to warm the bench. If the deal goes through hope its asap so we can replace I noticed amari bell at fleetwood hasn't moved yet could be a good move to go after him. Rather yids stay and sign a new deal but I can't see it happening unfortunately.
Really good money just a shame we've lost so many players. May find ourselves wishing we had £3m less in the bank and a proven defender on the pitch come Christmas.
Is it only me that thinks 3m isn't great for him He has the pace and power to make it in the premier league and in today's market 3m isn't a great deal
I think we should have been looking at more and he will do well in the premiership. But for us 3million and a sell on and we all know he will be gone hopefully we can get a few more quid out of them. At the time when bree went he wasn't any where near yids but was bought on potential and we got 3million for bree. So we should be looking for more based on that.
Or we could go out and spend 3 to 5 million on who exactly? If I were worth that much I'm pretty sure Barnsley wouldn't be able to afford my wages. We could go out and buy someone for the lower leagues for a million plus and await the inevitable moans about paying that money for someone untested at our level.
As I already said if yids gos we need to replace asap. Do you have any suggestions or do you just plan on been critical whoever we sign?
Not for me to come up with solutions. All I am saying is that selling players for £3 to £5m and replacing them with players at £200k will ultimately be the club's downfall.
That is the entire point of "the plan". Buy for 200K, sell for 3M. Thats a 2.8M profit minus the players wages. That money will be used for both reinvestment in the playing squad, and the day-to-day running of the club so that the Cryne family doesnt have to keep funding the club. The plan has a scale to it. Have we spent more on incomings than last year? Yes. So if the plan works, the fees we get for these players will increase also. If all goes to plan, the incomings in the next few seasons will be of a higer price/calibre and so on, all the while the club is more and more solvent AND is getting an increased return on the field. If we got 3M for Yiadom and spent 3M on a replacement, I can pretty much guarantee that that method would land us in deeper water a hell of a lot faster than the way club is currently trying to do business.
