It is not negativity, it is repeating what the owner has said about transfer income.

Without knowing the actual facts, any discussions on the board are based on pure supposition.
I am not saying that any income made from the sale of players should be invested in the team.
That's a decision that only Patrick Cryne can make.

What I am saying , is we must be paying Yiadom a certain amount of money in wages.
It doesn't matter what we sell him for re-£3, £5, £6 million. After any sum due is paid to Barnet
(if there is a sell on clause ) the residue will go where PC decides it has to go.

The money in wages we are paying/have offered to pay Yiadom could then, if PC would sanction it, be expended on bringing
in a player in a position where we are short at the moment i.e. a Striker below what we were paying
Yids and there could be some left over to part fund of another of our players salary.

There really is no need for all the angst and negativity around what might happen , because apart from it creating
wasted energy , we are reacting to newspaper/media hearsay and speculation that is designed to stir the pot and what's
more it might be way off the mark.

As Whitey has quite rightly said times many , let's wait until something appears on the Clubs Official website instead of getting
our "Nixon " the wrong way round please.!

Patrick Cryne is on record saying what I have been repeating.

We won't pay anyone any wages outside the normal income streams of the club and transfer income will not subsidise wages.

    We could also have
20-25 million seems.a reasonable estimate of income over last 12 months. stones sell on/Mawson/Hourihane/Bree/Winnall/Roberts/Jackson. Difficult to put an exact figure on it due to the undisclosed nature of tbe fees but it will be between those two points. Of course fees are staggered and we won't receive all that within this financial year

The worrying thing though Jack is hes probably right, whether its negative or not.
This policy if you can call it that is a relegation waiting to happen, and Id love for them to prove me wrong again but we're digging ourselves into a deeper hole here with this level of players. It doesnt mean they will flop of course, but unknown kids who have never played in this division before and some of them arent even regulars in their own first team, well its a recipie for disaster isnt it.

Remember Keef Hill did it and got boll*ocked for it, and now its happening all over again.

I agree RED, that's where we know we are weak. We have lost a lot of goals re- Scowen (10) and Watkins (12) in two seasons
and Conor ( 29) and Peppa ( 40) over three seasons. But the big imponderable for me , is the quality we need to replace them within our budget , out there.? We'll soon find out.

Impressions on the board range from automatic, play offs, season long struggle through to relegation ,which can be expected
given that we have an eclectic mix of optimists, pessimists and realists on here and at this time we don't know which group will be proved correct come the end of the season. What I do know, is even though I might oppose some of the opinions
expressed on the board, everybody has a right to express what they feel because the one common denominator is that we all care and deep down all want the Club to succeed.

As a fan now entering my thirtieth year of supporting the Club, knowing of our limitations compared to the financial clout of
some of the teams we play against, I am always cautiously optimistic regarding our prospects during the build up to any new
    campaign.

This season is no different. There looks to be the nucleus of a promising squad in place. Hecky has said he wants another four in, so until that process is complete and they have a chance to bed in, I am going to wait until at least five games into the new season until I am able to reassess my initial hopes and opinions.

The majority of teams we are to face also look to be in transition, so for me, at this point in time, it's impossible to speculate where we might finish come the end of the campaign. With the pedigree of some of our players who almost to a man have
represented their respective Countries at various International levels, I feel confident that Hecky is not building a team with
    relegation on his agenda.!

But its reading the same comments of doom and gloom and relegation woes every five minutes though.
Lets see where we end up in May shall we first and give these lads the benefit of the doubt first.

I was suprised that a historical selling club got promoted when they could have happily ticked over in the top half of League 1 for the next 10 years . Worth saying again but what a job Hecky and the boys did last season almost bringing us into the play offs. Yiadom is technically excellent and comfortable in possession like many other players brought in last season. Despite higher wages elsewhere the players enjoy playing for Barnsley and whatever happens to Yiadom last year gives hope for the future.

I've no idea how we'll do this season; but exactly how many players in our squad 12 months ago had Championship experience? Less than this year. That was a more unproven squad in the Championship

It's not good enough for some unless they are proven championship players it's not good enough... thing what some don't quite understand is we can't afford proven championship player never mind the wages they would demand that's why the policy been used is the only way forward until them Chinese billionaires come back and throw a load of money at us.

Who has it now? Hammill, McDonald, Davies and Bradshaw? Oh yes and Yiadom.

You also ovesimplfy the value of having a squad that had done what it had done together - there was always goals in the side that started the season - now, I cannot see where they are coming from.

We finished 22 points short. Close but no cigar. In isolation a great achievemnt to finish where we did but having been 7th at one point there will always be a feeling of what might have been.

This season, who knows. Could be top, could be bottom. Some like this unknown, others don't. We will soon know how it is panning out...

Fair enough. All I do is counter the constant negativity. Or am I not allowed to?
