I prefer to think of it as keeping our club alive for the next decade should something happen to our terminally ill owner
True in the final analysis with more ambition we could have gone along way last season . The application and organisation was maintained and despite the final points total being lower than anticipated halfway through the season 10 awaay wins and a goal tally second only to Newcastle at halfway says alot for the standard of football reached.
Yep Can't belive we forced winnall and the rest to leave.... and we wouldn't pat conor 30k a week like villa no ambition
I don't think Mr Cryne would thank you for calling him 'pat' and doesn't it get old repeating the same thing over and over again. Sent from my iPad using Barnsley FC BBS Fan Forum mobile app
I agree. As someone who sits in the middle of the debate. The constant trying to close down discussion is by far the dullest and most predictable of all posts. It's like they think I don't come on a discussion board to discuss things just repeat the same sentences over and over again. I play ******** Bingo at the start of a thread like this and it's easy to win. Disappointed there's been no mention of Leroy Lita or Keith Treacy yet but I'm sure it's coming. But at least that squad knew each other, they had just won promotion together from Lg One and that counted for a lot. Most of this squad has none of that, and some of them at their age are only regulars in their own teams U21/23 sides. Yes I would normally hate to read negative comments like this as well but Ive got a really bad feeling about this season.
We cannot afford seasoned Championship players we signed a striker from Chelsea the other day and people were moaning that he had no championship experience do these people not know how much a proven championship goalscorer would cost +wages
We wouldn't even stump up a million for a **** hot prem under 23 or top scoring league one player at the minute. This is very very disappointing .Is it me or should we be the best we can possibly be or a fu__ing feeder club, embarrassing !.
Personally, I believe we'll be okay this season, possibly with a top half finish. Probably a show of blind faith on my part, but I simply don't care. The lack of Championship experience with our new signings doesn't bother me. But then, it didn't bother me last Summer either, despite it being a major concern with some fans then, too. If I'm proved to be wrong, then I'll be wrong. It won't cost me a minute's lost sleep, nor do I believe the Four Horsemen Of The Apocalypse will ride down Dodworth High Street because of it.
If your wrong it's relegation which will be very costly.Hecky won't keep being lucky forever, hope I'm wrong like
If I'm wrong, then we could still finish well clear of relegation. Also, you may believe Hecky's been lucky whilst he's been in charge, I believe he's been a great gaffer due to his excellent abilities rather than luck.
And thats an excellent example BigLil, of how we can all love the same club yet still have very differing positive/negative views. I thought the same this time last year by the way, that we would struggle and go straight back down so for me the season was a really good one because we far outdid what I expected. Fingers crossed we can/will do the same again this time eh!
No one is saying it isn't, just trying to point out that transfer revenue won't be used to subsidise wages the club cannot afford, which folk seem to have convinced themselves will happen as some mythical "Phase 2" of "The Plan".
The time to panic is if the window closes with Bradshaw, Payne, Brown and Ugbo as our only striking options.
