We are still painfully short in some areas. Will we see any incomings this week? We are still a full back short - two if Yiadom goes We need at least one winger We need a Morsy type player in CM as I hope we are not relying on the lad from Everton. We still need at least one winger (two being realistic) We need two strikers - one with a track record of scoring goals in the Football League. I don't expect we will bring all of these players in, even by 31st August but it would be nice to bring in a couple before the big KO.
A forward will be brought in by Bristol. Whether he has a goal scoring record in the Football League is a different question.
Find a dictionary, look up the definition of the word 'painfully.' We will most definatley see more incomings this week and next.
We definitely need a striker brought in by the time we play Bristol, and ideally another one before the window closes. Another full-back, and winger would be nice, but it's not the end of the world if they don't join before the first game of the season. I think we'll give Williams a few games to see how he is, and then bring somebody else in if needed. I can see Sessi leaving, on loan.
Cannot see Sessi going anywhere. If we are going to play 5 in midfield, we need a defensive-minded, strong enforcer type to sit in front of our inexperienced centre back pairings. I cant think of another player on our books that fits the bill more than big Sessi.
All about the forwards for me. It's the one area we are glaring short at the moment. The rest we're dealing with are 'what ifs'. Hecky and the board know this though and will be working hard to rectify the situation. Chances are it'll be like dominoes again with a couple of signings edging closer once Premier League teams make further signings and announce finalised squads. As a Barnsley 'collective' (fans and club officials) we'd have all liked this deals over the line by now but unfortunately you can only play the cards you're dealt. I'm just hoping we get a couple of Aces before Bristol!
I`m not sure we will start regularly with two wingers. If he plays Mallan where he played against Cov (and he was my MOM) he has to choose between Adam and Izzy.
From what I gather, Williams is the enforcer. He'll most likely be given time to prove what level he's at, but it wouldn't surprise me to see us bringing in a midfielder on deadline day, and Sessi being sent out on loan somewhere.
Everton fans I know are really positive about Williams. From what they say he should do a very good job for us.
