I honestly don't know why some people bother when they get so worked up about it even though we're in the healthiest position for years!

Think I'm gonna take a break from here until after we've stuffed Brizzle City 4-0

 

Oddly all I see is this:

Person one: we haven't signed any strikers
Person two: why does everyone keep telling us to spend £100m
Person three: idiots on here want us to spend £36billion
Person 4: I hope we don't sell yiadom
Person five: I wish people would stop comparing us to Manchester united.

Or to put it another way there are justified complaints and questions and then so many people completely inventing things to moan at the moaners about.

 

It doesn't quite go like that though does it ST?
The regular response when a striker like McBurnie is mentioned is how many games has he played? How many goals has he scored? With no alternative suggestions on the proven players are that we CAN sign.
People are entitled to that response. It worries me too, it's a gamble. But please don't try to paint this as one side is rational and the other isn't. Most of the counter arguments, mine included, are not initiations of debate but a response to the constant side swipes at anything the club does or doesn't do.

 

Don't get me wrong there is a lot of both of what you mention but in the last few days I have seen what seems to be a lot of people inventing things to pretend people are moaning about when they aren't. Argue with people about the merit of signing kids or freebies etc but what's the point in pretending that somebody has said we should be challenging Manchester united or that somebody has said we need to spend £10m on one player when frankly it is ******** that anyone has said it. That isn't directed at you by the way as I don't think you've said any of those things

 

To put what I mean into some context the original post said he had logged in to read about our recent games but all he sees is 'we are doomed'.

In actual fact just looking at the first page of the BBS:
6 threads about recent games.
5 threads moaning about our transfer activity (all made by young nudger and dragon tyke)
3 moaning about people moaning

And a lot of random threads including a mix of positive threads and threads unrelated to bfc at all.

So how do you see those stats and come to the conclusion that all you can see is people saying we are doomed when the fact is only two people have started threads saying that while there are six threads about the very thing he says he can't find?

 

A mention of Leroy Lita and thats recent 'debate' covered.

 

Thanks ST. I am concerned that we need two more strikers. No one doubts that. What annoys me is comments that suggest the club isn't bothered or isnt trying to get them in. Clearly they are and I'm pretty sure PH wouldn't stand for it if it were otherwise. At the moment his cv is very strong, it could make him a rich man if he carries on the way he has been. I doubt he'd be happy in having it undermined by alowing us to be uncompetitive this season.

 

Over the course of the year conor wilkison probley gets just as many mentions as lita in debates if not more but he isn't on the bingo card hmm

 

Anyone who says we aren't trying to bring players in is frankly stupid. What I suspect is happening is that our first choice is to bring in players on loan and only if we are unable to do that will we then go out and buy players. The problem with that is that a lot of clubs are unwilling to release loans until they have bought their replacements first. In other words we are trying to bring players in but not actively trying to sign permanent strikers which is why nothing is happening yet.
