Maybe I'm getting old, but I'm confused. Why are City (normally play in sky blue) and Real (normally play in White) playing in claret and dark blue/black?
Yes because fans don't realise clubs have multiple kits. It's nice seeing differbt shirts. When I went to Birmingham last season and saw that Barnsley were wearing white or was a nice difference.
They were playing in front of a load of clueless Yanks who are desperate to jump on the "soccer is awesome, man!" bandwagon, wearing those kits last night probably netted them a small fortune. Man Utd & Barca did the same.
Apart from the obvious commercial opportunity, obviously, they both had to change because having one team playing in skyblue shirts and white shorts and the other playing in all white would have been too close together to tell them apart.
