obviously i'd like to see 2/3 permanent come in and poss a good loan but they've got to be right for the club and at the right terms, but if not would it be the end of the earth by playing some others up front ? izzy, hammill, yids, macarthy, moncur, mallan, they all look very comfortable on the ball, got pace to spare and know where the goal is, I don't mean this as a fix just temp until the next window or the right free agent comes along
Obviously we all want another two in. Like you say though, if we don't get anyone in before the Bristol game I really don't see it as the end of the world. Bradshaw, Payne, Brown and Ugbo are enough for that one game. With the way the transfer window and transfers in general work it's unlikely we'll get someone in until other deals have been done - so it could be that we're waiting right till the last minute to get someone in. That being said, if we don't get a real quality striker in before the end of the transfer window I do think we'll struggle for goals and our aim for mid table is more likely to be a relegation battle.
Wouldn't be surprised if we went back in for Omar Bogle. He's not playing in their friendly at Grimsby on Saturday for an unknown reason.
If he/Bogle is at Lg Two Grimsby, then what sort of flippin' wages is he on ?. I hope we don't waste our time on him. I still think we missed out on a decent signing in James Vaughan though, who Sunderland ended up paying 900k for.
He's a League 1 player. For Wigan not to play a player who could potentiallly get 25 goals for them, a better side must have come in for him.
Pretty sure 99.9% of the people associated with the club see our aim as a mid table finish (at best). Just like last year our aim was to stay in the league. Not really sure what the point of your post is apart from being a bit pedantic for no reason.
Yes I suppose it is, even though we know it won't happen. In keeping with the 'realistic' thing, I want us to compete and not be a mere pushover for the bigger and so called better clubs. If we go down like that having tried at least, then surely we can't argue with it.
Our aim is not to be relegated. Trouble with that is if we aim at 4th bottom and miss it by one place we are relegated, if we aim for top 6 and miss it we have had a great season !
That might be a realistic expectation, but I'm talking about our opening aim. Not being pedantic at all.
