Quite a number of Clubs in our League are nowhere near completing their business. From what I can see our first opponents Bristol City for example have signed two, taken one on loan and signed one on a free. Tammy Abraham went back to Chelsea and is now with Swansea and another Bristol goal threat, Lee Tomlin's been sold to Cardiff for £2.1 million. Gobsmacked to see that Leeds have put a £20 million price tag on Chris Woods in the hope of warding off any interest from Premiership clubs.!
Hasn't he already turned down a "bigger club"? There is absilutely no doubt McCarthy has tapped up our players in the past and been in with insulting bids preying on the fact that weve a history of being a selling club and he's been lucky enough to be bank rolled by owners. Has he ever done us a favour by loaning us a player? No. Him and Parky. Plastic Barnsley fans.
Having had the pleasure of watching Macca give his all in a reds shirt, I will always have total respect for the guy.
Ok so he starts playing badly Just stop playing him What's the worst that can happen - we reach the contract and he gets sent back?
Well I think we had that last year with Kent and Armstrong its a risky policy if its not got other balances in I have no problem in us agreeing to play a striker for example as long as we can drop him if he cant score at least 3 goals per 10 games as an example. A player cant be guaranteed starts no matter how badly he performs in training and on the pitch. That said we have no idea what the terms are on Ugbo and players will definitely sign for us on the evidence of the development of others
He only "thinks" we are doing that. It's 99.9% likely however based on what we know about the Ryan Kent loan
