I am a frequent reader and occasional poster - I suspect that I may be classed as some as a "Happy Clapper". My thoughts are that we are in danger of writing the current squad off before a ball is kicked in anger. I acknowledge that we are a number of players short of a complete-looking squad (by Hecky`s own admission) but don`t we owe it to the Club (and the manager) to cut some slack and see where the start of the season takes us. I understand that we all would like to sign a potential 20 goals a season Forward but I for one will be happy to see us start the new campaign with at least another year in the Championship rather than the league below _ if we`re not good enough then so be it - we`ll start again. But I won`t write us off before we`ve had a go! Told you I am a Happy Clapper!
Much the same as my thinking. No point in pulling the team down or their potential before a competitive match has even been played..
I am always prepared to give the team a chance and when things go badly I see no point in ranting about on here or hurling abuse at the players or manager. Happy clapper and proud.
20 goal a season striker? Clubs are paying over 10 million at a time for strikers that won't get anywhere near 20 goals a season. I think we'll be fine this season and see some entertaining stuff. Let's roll
I think that it will be a long hard season but that doesn't mean I'm writing anyone off or criticising the club. Football has gone mad. It is what it is.
He said it was a nailed on fact. People saying we will finish in the bottom three are saying so as an opinion. It is a big difference.
I'm more worried about the fans cutting him some slack. I really really really hope they do, but I remember how quickly everyone turned on Flitcroft. In a matter of months he went from being the Messiah to being talked about in the same breath as Davey.
Unless I'm still drunk from last night (possible) I didn't see him say it was a nailed on fact in this thread? Unless I'm missing something.
I think support for the manager is unequivocal. Peole will turn against the hierarchy before the manager.
