I've just been listening to interview with Sheffield Uniteds new loanee keeper from Chelsea.

Interviewer commented on how the club was "very ambitious", so I thought I'd have a look at what theyd spent on whom.

    This is what I found

    https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/sheffield-united/transfers/verein/350

Not much difference between their transfer activity and ours really.

    . . . For a massive club.

They are 25-1 and we are 150-1 . Fancy us to be above them

They've made a few good signings; I'd have been happy with Baldock, Lundstram and Steven's here.

Stearman is well past his best.

The Evans signing is baffling. Well it isn't for Sheffield United, but for any other club, it would be baffling.

A very very odd signing is Evans.

I think if the lose the momentum from last season they will tow as they will struggle for goals but otherwise will be ok

I know the point of the thread but I don't trust transfermarkt as a reliable source.

Example one - apparently the market value of Andy Yiadom is just over 400k, whilst zeki fryers is worth about 1.2million.

It's also showing half the transfers in for Sheffield United are also transfers out.

De ja vous of Blackwell's relegation team. Lower league players with no resale value. Plus Richard Stearman? Another 'Jonneh Ertl'. Not impressed

Thing is they pissed League 1 by a mile and have kept hold of all their players. They had only one or two loan players who hardly featured so the vast majority of their squad have played together for at least a season. Wilder's a good manager so personally I don't think they'll struggle, especially with the momentum from last season. However, hopefully they'll follow the WIgan route rather than the Reds.

Would agree with you normally but now they have signed Evans they have given every club they play against proper ammunition to give them hell, and deserve it. Personally though think they will stay up fine.

Lundastrum is a good signing and still only.23 no championship experience mind you so I'm. Sure their fans will be spitting feathers. On a serious note I don't think they will struggle bottom half to mid table I think. Wilder is a good manager.

Yep. Rivalry aside, I think they've a good manager, and someone, perhaps like Hecky, who their board are confident in. Stearman apart, they've recruited similarly to us, as you say. Lower league, good talent. I think they'll do something like we did last season, momentum being the biggest thing.

That said, I'm really looking forward to watching us. Whatever it brings. I'll only see one game before September mind.

Yeah the whole thing reminds me of us last season in some respects.

Having not signed Fletcher, Isgrove and Brownhill on permanent deals and not brought in any "proven" championship players there was talk of struggle and "no ambition" by some.

As has already been mentioned, some blades fans will probably be unhappy that they haven't gone out and spent.

    All about opinions.

Winnall Hourihane Scowen Watkins et all had no championship experience for us last year. In fact I dont think any of our new signings had and only Hammil from the promotion team had it

Tammy Abrahams didnt have championship experience and he did OK for our former manager

I think the Blunts will unfortunately be fine next season - I expect them to finish highest of the promoted teams

It was sort of a tounge in cheek comment I'm sick of seeing the no experience comments. I agree with what you say.

I can't say I know too much about their new players, personally I think they will struggle.

How can you predict they'll struggle if you don't know anything about their new players?
