Don't buy into it. I was, and remain, quite optimistic for the season. But this debacle today, friendly or not, is a massive massive concern. I like getting poor performances out of the way, and Hecky will have learnt a lot today - but 'only a friendly' or not, this has got to result in an absolute rocket to them. Yes we are short of a few faces still - and lack some quality - but Rotherham just wanted it more and tried harder. That can't be accepted.
As the Rotherham commentator said in summary on ifollow , our display was disjointed and indicative of a team who are patched up after flogging all its best players. Hard but fair. I went the the Huddersfield game. Saw nothing there that excites me at all. We have some players who I never want to see on a football pitch wearing Red in first team action.
Jackson has never impressed always a liability .. mowatt is worrying one of the worst players on the pitch against Hudds , we have thankfully lost one or two, kdonkey has gone thank chuff but our defence is god aweful. Yiadom was the a shining star but he's off Angus is good and will improve but is not Mawson/Roberts yet. We have a team of below average players Moncur as an example. Where has our pace gone ? We are shocking up front shocking at the back and Keith hill like in the middle passing the ball back and forth in our our area and playing ourselves into trouble Delighted about izzy. Ugbo could be good, Hammill has yet to get back to his old self, seems he never recovered from his petulance last season when he was taken off then stuck on the bench. Worrying times.
Hammill spat his dummy when subbed last season , that was the petulance not his lack of pace. Kpekawa , another waste of space gap filler signing that has now gone.
Yes, I know that happened, what I'm saying is that that is nowt to do with how he plays now or even just after it.
