The policy as it is currently being implemented by the owner / board is flawed and unless they start listening to him re the need to recruit championship quality players now the club will struggle just what us alleged moaners have been saying since the start of the fire sale in January. Will the people who blindly follow the mantra of the board now start to accept the need for change. The board must start to back hecky properly or the club will lose him.
The board was the reason Mark Robins left. I can't remember exactly but he wasn't very complimentary on how the club was run.
Because we've just flogged about 15 million quids worth of players and spent **** all on replacements I'm not talking about 7 million quid on the likes of Fletcher but hecky has to be backed with a modest amount of the cash he help generate or he'll **** off and we will really be ****** then.
Tbh they weren't championship proven players last year that did ok first half of season only Hammill. There were more championship proven players in the relegation season though. It's the right players rather than the division they've played in imo I
No one blindly follows any mantra. You've seen how much some of our players have left for and how much money they are being paid. Once players have got used to that kind of money they're not going to come and play for us. You push up your wage ceiling for one player and the rest of the team want parity, and even then could easily be offered more elsewhere. We are in a league full of multimillionaire owners, bigger attendances, better sponsorship deals, parachute payments etc. They are all above us in the pecking order for the best players. That's what we're up against. Hecky also sited lack of effort. Not wanting to put a challenge or a header in. That's not down to the board. That's basic idleness on the part of individuals and it doesn't matter how good or poor you are, you have to do that side of things as a basic.
Look you've heard from the man himself the club aren't listening to him re the need to strengthen the squad that should be a wake up call for all the clubs supporters about the way the clubs being run end of
He also stated that people need to start listening to him re the quality of recruitment before its too late
Not really what I read into it. I see he wants more bodies in, which we all agree on, but my taking on his gripes tonight was that PLAYERS weren't following instructions.
Listen to it he is quite clearly saying the board aren't listening to him re sales and recruitment and they need to start to listen clearly not happy re Roberts sale said the things that were agreed in March / April haven't happened he's very pissed off
You didn't listen very carefully then quite he clearly said people weren't listening to him re recruitment and that things agreed in March / April hadn't happened
He's talking about the quality of recruitment. The sort of thing that whenever anyone mentions it on her they are labelled a doom monger or whinger. Better let Hecky know that's what you think of him...
What I'm reading into that is that it's both. The players haven't done what he's been drilling into them since the Rochdale game AND the "board" haven't supported the initial plan agreed in March / April. Given Patrick's condition it make me wonder what the frick people like Barry Taylor are doing to earn their keep. Clearly PC must be in a hell of a state so someone needs to step up and fill the vacuum. As I've said previously step up GG. One other comment however.........the players we have bought are the players Paul targetted as having the potential. They need to take responsibility and show some balls. Anyway the season hasn't even started yet and we have 46 games ahead of us to look fwd to!
His exact words to me were.... Theres better run conference sides than this place and that was in the early days of his appointment.before the season had even kicked off
