Today I went to NYS to get away from a difficult few couple of days with more to come. Then that happens. From top to bottom it's a Joke a flipping joke was made of the Barnsley fans today. Friendly or not you have to be competitive and have a plan. Moncurs playing with handcuffs on in this stupid fecking 44 out of date 2. The clues in the number Heckingbottom. He wears number 10. It doesn't stop there. We were ripped apart down out right in the first half. Open shop and with the clinical touch of the second half that score could have been double. In the second half we actually improve in that area but the lack of defence centrally just disappeared. Hammill. Do we all turn up to watch a circus show? It's a football match, Adam. Bradshaw, what does this guy actually do. He's got nothing special or anywhere close to been. The same goes for Two left feet Payne. How Jacob Brown's not getting minutes because of these are crazy. Who's idea's this then? I'm not sure what must be going through the mind of Ike Ugbo tonight. He must be wondering what he's agreed to here. He tried today. Held of the number 5?, the big CB with ease at times and coursed problems. I posted the other day that I wasn't worried about pre season., I miss posted. Apologies. This could turn into a 9 month point and laugh our way. Honestly, I'm so angry with so many of the people in charge at Oakwell. The 5-month appointment of a CEO when recruitment was critical.
Go and spend time with your family. Really, nothing else is more important than that. Definitely not football. Certainly not pre-season football. Whatever is going on at home I hope it's ok.
Before today I'd seen us play Rotherham 7 times over nearly 40 years. We'd conceded 3 goals in those 7 games, or 3 in 7 and a half till half-time today. After we'd beaten them 4-0 last August I was thinking they were crap but it's still far too early to think they were doomed. If we start the season like we played today we will be next year's Rotherham. I thought we were even worse than they were at Oakwell a year ago.
Not working if you listen to Hecky. Although i know you won't. And wrong to point the finger at GG anyway so perhaps I won't. You have a point about the amount of time it took to get GG in place though. Too much for him to do too soon perhaps
I'm more angry with Sundays. Saturdays I can handle, but Sundays....why I oughtta....(shakes fist) Sometimes get a bit miffed with Thursdays as well.
Redstar, Heckingbottoms a massive part of the problem. He agrees for these players to bring in. It's him that overloads on certain area's and he's picking is this ***** formation and then picking ***** players that he signed for plenty of money in front of players like Jacob Brown.
Fair enough, I knew it might be too good to be true to have a lucid and rational conversation where you can see beyond blaming Hecky. He might agree to it, but listening to his interview we are barely 1/2 way to the agreed level. Perhaps Jacob is not quite ready. And let's not forget, this "***** formation" got us promoted and to a 14th finish. In any case, if players, like the poor little lost lamb you mentioned in your initial post don't want to graft it matters not what formation they are played in.
I'd rather we got a wake-up call in the final friendly than in a league game. A few points need making to add some perspective. We clearly didn't have our strongest defence on the pitch when the goals were flying in. Fryers and Jackson aren't going to be first choices surely. I'd say our best back line will probably be McCarthy, Lindsay, MacDonald and Yiadom. There's other key players who either didn't feature much or at all, such as Isgrove, Mallan and McGeehan. We also haven't finished our striker recruitment. We shouldn't be losing 4-0 to a lower division team under any circumstances though.
careful what you wish for HT. You told us for 2 years Roberts, Houriane and Winnall were no good. Now they have gone your telling us our defence, midfield and attack are rubbish.
I'd probably switch off the internet tonight if I were you. Everyone is fallible but to call the best manager we've ever had (IMO) a massive part of a problem then I'm sorry. I'm not having that. It's unwarranted and absolute ******.
Does he get any choice? Sounds to me that he's only getting what he's given at the moment, not what he's asked for and thought had been agreed. That got us to the fringes of the play-offs. One things for certain, them players in any formation with any other manager would've still been ***** today. Different players in the same formation with the same manager would have won at a canter.
Well said. Football can be a great escape from your worries but it can also add to the stress if you let it. Nowt you can do about our formation or signings hemsy so don't let it get to you when you've got worries at home.
