I've been a defender of this 'plan' since the beginning and I maintain it has worked up until now.

This transfer window has been the most important since we went down. I really thought we had recruited well in areas apart from up top. Apparently not.

It's inexcusable tonight I'm afraid. For me, it's Hecky's words that are more worrying than the result. We're not in a good place.

I'm not sure it's the 'plan' that's at fault. Listening to Hecky sounds like the plan hasn't been executed by those above.

It will be interesting to see the reaction of those he's brought in after they've been labelled as **** and basically not wanted by their manager.

They haven't as such been labelled **** or unwanted, more their application and desire to win a game has been rightly questioned. Hecky has bemoaned the number of signings saying we're short, not derided the ones already signed as not good enough. It will be interesting to see how they react to that though, given many of these lads are not guaranteed first team action but will presumably be desperate to perform and develop.

He said they were poor, and weren't up to the standard of signings he wanted. Given those two things are true, 'we shouldn't be surprised at the result or performance'. There wasn't even a "these lads have potential but they need to learn quickly" type comment, just "they're not good enough and I wanted better players but haven't got them."

An interesting use of psychology the week before the season kick off. Will be interesting to see how the signing of the experienced McBurnie will affect things.

In my eyes the plan isn't working, how on earth can you consistently sell you best players and replace with inferior players and hope to move forward? We have all been let down by the board/owner.

Because it is about financial progress first and foremost. Footablling progress will hopefully come into it as a happy by-product
