There has to be more to Mowatt than we've seen so far. All joking about Leeds aside, he was their player of the year in 2014/15.
Maybe. And that's the problem int it. Like I've been saying for a while now - and Hecky alluded to it today. If you sell a player for £3 million - to replace that player you need to spend £3 million - or you can bring in 2 or 3 lower league / out of favour types of players hoping that one of them will come good. But you can't just - unless yer lucky - swap one expensive for one cheaper. So what Hecky is saying in his interview today is this - if we sell 12 of our players that are proven Championship players - to replace them we might have to recruit 18 players. At the moment we are nowhere near that.
Let's face it, Mowatt was signed to keep us happy after the sale of Hourihane, it didn't work out last season for a couple of reasons, he was severely lacking match fitness, and nobody, not even Mowatt, knows his favoured position. Too lightweight to be a central midfielder, not quick and agile enough to be a winger, and too lightweight to sit behind the striker, as shown last season. Hopefully he's got himself in much better shape for the season ahead, and he works out his favoured position that can get the best out of him, whatever that is
Guon then, although I don't think I should have to fulfill both conditions, if he either scores 10+ or is POTS I win. Loser pays a tenner to the winner's charity of choice
I think he'll come good. I was watching his goals from that 14-15 season and he looks class. Reminded me of Hourihane when we first had him- shooting on sight and scoring loads from distance but lightweight and missing in games a lot.
