Knee jerk reaction syndrome is what this bulletin board is all about. Woo hoo we are now going down..... Hurrah!! if the reds beat Bristol then we are going up. Hurrah...... What a load of tosh some peple spout. Please give a measured judgement after 10-15 games of the real season. I for one am actually optimistic. There will be some gaffs and errors in August and September I am sure based purely on what I've read and inferred. There are many clubs in worse situations than us however and I for one am assuming by the end of September the club will be ok. We did lose to Huddersfield recently and there wasn't much in that one by all accounts...... Over-reaction about a friendly fixture is bonkers.. Win, lose or draw it will be a different Barnsley at Brtistol.
I'm really optimistic usually but his interview does concern me a great deal. One because he is taking a swipe at his paymasters for polticical gain (or frustration) which usually ends in tears Two because it suggests all is not well internally at the club. He referred to an agreed plan that doesn't appear to have been completed for whatever reason. He also referred to the sale of Marc Roberts which suggested to me it was against his wishes.
Agreed, I don't give a **** about the result yesterday pre season means nothing to me. However, Hecky's comments are a real concern a week before the season begins.
You are 'Missing the point'. The reaction is not about the loss of a friendly, nor the manner of losing, but the reaction of Hecky and the not so subtle coded message it contained. If Hecky goes BFC are 'royally screwed' Who, of any note, would come here to manage having seen how little backing the Manager has?
yeah or whitey... would come from within anyway... No one who could rock the boat would be coming here that's for sure
I'm not missing any point at all. The only 'facts' we have to go on yesterday are that we lost a practice game 4-0 and the players didn't try hard enough. Anything else, reading between the lines and making assumptions about what Heckingbottom's position and/or attitude to the board is is purely speculation. I'll start 'getting' the point after a few games into the real season and after I've evaluated the new players and their bedding in. As for Heckingbottom, I don't blame him for being pissed off if the team played crap. Managers do get pissed off when their teams play crap. Darren Ferguson is very good at it. Over-speculation about the manager and doom and gloom is, as I suggested earlier, at this moment misplaced... Best wishes to you anyway sir...
Have you actually listened to Hecky's interview. He takes several swipes at his employers regarding player ins and outs.
Pleased that some pundits are not writing us off. Piece in today's People by Neil Moxey. In it he assesses each team in the Championships prospects of winning the title. Burton Albion are 50/1and he says of them " Clough did a fabulous job last term to keep Burton in the division. A repeat would be another magnificent return." He has Bolton at 40/1 and comments " solid last season but Parkinson needs more-the big boys are signing Premier League cast offs in this division." Millwall are at 35/1. Moxey says " the Club have momentum and that might help them steer clear of trouble." Unsurprisingly we are next at 33/1 and he says " unrealistic to expect Barnsley to compete at the top end. But they are more than capable of making life difficult for others.! Given some of the comments I've seen elsewhere that is one of the more positive ones. He's got Bristol City at 12/1 and says " Tammy Abraham's goals were vital last season. They need Diedhou to replace him properly-or it could be a long slog.!"
