    The French newspaper L'Equipe are today reporting that #barnsleyfc are set to sign striker Mamadou Thiam from Dijon for around £1million.

    I posted this two weeks ago from a guy I know at the club... (that's not my point btw)...my point is is this what hecky is getting so upset about?...that we may be dithering about signing players when he wants them in to get the squad together...as it was paper thin and he needs TIME to get his squad into a efficient unit.

    Looks strong, fairly pacey, tricky with a decent turn and shot by the looks of it. Also can play left or right wing. Scoring record isn't spectacular although 32 of the 59 appearances are sub appearances.

    I can understand the frustration but without knowing the reasons for not signing him sooner it's hard to say. Wages? Club not wanting to sell? Club waiting on a replacement becoming available? If they rate him then surely it's better in the long run to wait 2 weeks rather than sign someone who is available but you don't rate as highly?

    Also says he turned down an offer from Turkey and the Spanish 2nd division. Maybe this was the cause of the delay. He was weighing up his options.
