Looks like GG will be starting up the fan engagement forum once more. First one sometime in Sept. Please PM any questions or reply to this thread as they come up. Shouldn't think there's much to raise right now is there
What dialogue has the club had with SYP, re changes to k.o. times, in view of the inconsistencies with different clubs e.g. apparently SYP are able to police 10k+ Rangers fans at 3pm on a Sunday afternoon in Sheffield, but cannot deal with the 3k Barnsley fans that will go to Brammal Lane in a few weeks time?
A few questions What has been the biggest surprise with regards the club since he came here? The club obviously obtained quotes for scoreboards in the last two years. Would the club be open to releasing details of those quotes and allowing supporters to raise funds to purchase a board fit for a championship club? Our current policy appears to be that of developing players and selling them then starting again buying from the lower leagues and developing them again to sell again and so on. Are the board willing to sacrifice our championship place in order to stick to the plan? Which is more important, sticking to the plan and building a healthy bank balance or ensuring we finish as high up the pyramid as possible? Are the two mutually exclusive? Other than money what has he found the biggest problem in trying to convince players to sign for Barnsley? What has he found that players are impressed with most? Don used to have tykettes. Can we have can can dancers please? In the last year or so the communication from the club regarding big decisions has been extremely poor. Does he plan to change this? An example of this is when Linton left we have still never been given ANY information about why. Does he feel it is important to be as open as possible with supporters on things like this? Has he mastered stairfoot roundabout yet? Why didn't he do an interview on ifollow the day he joined? It isn't good enough! Are there any things that are done at his old club in France that he wants to implement at Barnsley?
How much money does the club need in the bank before it has sufficient back bone to hold onto players in the January transfer window to at least try and challenge for promotion rather than throw the towel in and sell a load of players like we did last year.
Seriously, what difference does it make why the previous executive with responsibility for the day to day running of the business left?
I would like to know why Linton Brown resigned as CEO as his short tenure and the aftermath has had a catastrophic impact on the club. We're absolutely miles behind as a direct result.
Because there is a big difference between him being sacked for underper and him resigning as he didn't agree with the sale of our assets
He needs to know that the fans think communication from the club on a regular basis is poor, we should receive more regular updates than just the fans engagement meetings and website bits. We put our time, money and hearts in to the club and deserve a bit more feedback than we are getting. No one has a clue about PC plans due to health, takeover, transfers, finances, long term aims, club stability etc. Also if we lose hecky due to lack of support from the club then they will have a lot of unhappy fans to deal with.
I have no idea. It is a theory that was suggested at the time but likewise it was guessed at that he was the one who sold him cheap and so he was sacked which was the point I was getting at. Both are complete opposites and I feel the fans deserve the respect of being told the truth as it had a massive impact on our club
