Nope, the omens don't get any better folks. This is the cheating scumbag who gave Fulham a penalty when Angus inadvertently exhaled within a three yard radius of one of their players at a corner at their place when it was 0-0 and we were playing pretty well.
Been telling everyone at work that Bristol City to win and over 3.5 goals is the bet of the weekend. I really hope I have no mates on Monday.
It was a complete mystery that decision, compounded by the fact that he allowed play to continue well over a minute after the allotted 1 minute of stoppage time (there being no further stoppages in that minute). Almost like he was waiting for an opportunity to give them something.......
One of several very bad penalty decisions given last season - though I think the worst was the one against leeds. His performance against us in the Fulham game certainly gave them a big advantage. I expect nothing less at Bristol Fortunately I cant go so will miss the chance to see him hand the game to them
Oh aye - I remember that game. All down to the ref. Nowt to do with us being a bunch of boys played off the park by men.
First half was fairly even - in fact we could even have gone in ahead - then the soft penalty after injury time had finished and they go in a goal up We were completely outplayed second half Would the same have happened if the half time score was 0-0 - I have no idea but giving teams like Fulham a goal start makes it very difficult
Get real penalty or no penalty we were totally played of the park. The best team to come to Oakwell last season. We were outclassed in every department.
Was it Fulham game where scowen got sent off in similar circumstances to mowett when ref tried playing a advantage and he made a reckless challenge
Yes, mate. That was the home game against Fulham and our old friend Keith Stroud. The away game was different up to the penalty/half-time as Farnham has said above. They were good but so were we. I was working in West London at the time and met up with a number of Fulham fans after the game. They said that we were the best footballing team they had seen at Craven Cottage in the first half and none of them had a clue why the penalty had been given.
